1st Tooth Extraction

all smiles before the tooth extraction

 crafty weekend

On last Friday out of the sudden mummy noticed that Emeryn's permanent tooth is erupting and yet her milk tooth is still standing strong. Mummy got a lil' panic seeing it but later found out that her milk tooth is a lil' loosen too.

Emeryn attended Art Class on Sat morning as usual whereas mummy took the time to visit the skin specialist. We headed to downtown after Art Class for lunch and for mummy's Japanese Yen exchange. We went home for a quick rest before we proceeded to the dental clinic at Sunway Tunas for Emeryn's appointment. Before going off from home, mummy snapped a few of Emeryn's photo prior to her tooth extraction. We do not have to wait long after registering before calling Emeryn into the room. Obviously my soft jelly bean, Emeryn was scared looking at the dental's equipment. She threw a lot of questions to the dentist, asking this and that, how, why, when and etc. She refused to lie on the bed but instead asked mummy to sit there. After much persuasion, Emeryn agreed to have her tooth extracted. She refused to let the dentist to apply the numb gel on her gum but insisted mummy doing it. Mummy has changed her role, becoming the assistant to the dentist now.

After applying the gel, we had another hard session persuading Emeryn to have her tooth removed. Again, she wanted mummy to do it. Poor dentist, she has to come out with various stories to get Emeryn settled down. After a lengthy session, with the help from the dentist guiding mummy's hand on Emeryn's tooth, we successfully extracted her 1st milk tooth. The first word that came out from her was "PAINFUL" followed by a loud scream and cries. She then continued with "Mummy, you're very naughty", cursing while crying and then uttered "I want to go home now." She refused to bite on the gauze to stop the blood. She got traumatized with her first experience. We reached to the car as soon as we left the dental clinic after paying but Emeryn was still crying. Her blood almost flooded her mouth as she still refused to bite on the gauze. Finally she gave in and bite on it softly. Mummy drove to the nearest Mc Donalds and got a sundae cup. Ice cream helps to stop the blood. Emeryn took few spoons of the ice cream and slowly the bleeding stop. She then said "I don't want mummy anymore. I want daddy. Call daddy now and ask him to bring me to Pekaka." She said all these because mummy was the culprit behind her painful experience.

Mummy then dropped her at Pekaka before driving home alone. Less than an hour, Emeryn called mummy and asked mummy to pick her up in the evening. Kids obviously move on faster than adults. They don't hold grudges. Haha. Mummy brought Emeryn home later in the evening and brought dinner home too.

It was a rainy Sunday, so we decided to spent the day at home. We were in the mood for some art and craft, so mummy asked Emeryn to draw daddy a belated birthday card and a Thank You card for her teachers since the schooling session is ending soon. She then drew another card for her beloved Ah Ma too. Mummy helped with some minor cutting, gluing and supervise whereas Emeryn drew and write on her own. Later in the afternoon we went over to Por Por's place for our dinner.
