Chap Goh Meh

 evening coffee

 afternoon coffee on Thaipusam

 Chap Goh Meh celebration

Baby Ethan's 1st Birthday

 k-pop fever

 @ Coffee Bean

On Wed evening after mummy picked Emeryn from daycare, we headed out for dinner with mummy's friend at a newly open Chinese restaurant behind Olive Tree Hotel before adjourning to coffee at Blackdoor. It was our first time visiting both outlets. Emeryn happily go online on her iPad via the free wifi, surfing her fav K-Pop BTS and playing her Criminal Case games and refused to go home.

The next day was Thaipusam, a public holiday for us. We spent our morning at home and went to Sunshine Food Court for late lunch. After lunch, we went to Blackdoor again for coffee. It was a mother-daughter bonding session. Mummy took her laptop there so she could spend time doing our Europe trip itinerary.

Chap Goh Meh falls on Sat. After Emeryn's Bahasa tuition, we went to Por Por's place. We bought dinner there before riding the motorbike to Esplanade. Mummy fetched Emeryn while Ah Kong fetched Por Por and Baby Will. Ever since mummy introduced the tradition of throwing Mandarin oranges, Emeryn was eagerly wanting to do so every year. To her, it's more like a fun-fare thingy where she tries her luck throwing the oranges into the basket. With this occasion, we got the free entry to Fort Cornwallis, a place which we never visited before. Due to the massive crowd, we didn't make our way enjoying the open aired concert. We left after touring the place.

Emeryn attended her Cambridge class on Sun morning as usual. After the class, we attended Baby Ethan's first birthday at Haven Harbour at New World Park. After the birthday celebration, mummy drove Emeryn to Gurney Plaza as she wanted to visit the store selling those K-Pop stuff. Mummy only allows her to buy a total of 4 badges before we proceeded for a drink at Coffee Bean. We left shortly. On our way to Por Por's house, we dropped by Dewan Sri Pinang and snapped some photo on the CNY Decorations.

CNY Day 9 Hokkien Celebration

 after tuition

 Fri evening chilling out
 biking around

Lately mummy was super busy especially trying to plan for our BIG year end trip. Finally we are heading to Europe for 3weeks. As usual mummy would start all her itinerary preparation as early as she could, thus added all the stress. We are flying Emirates for the first time ever. In fact, quite exciting knowing it.

After the CNY holiday and when school and work resumed, we are back to our usual hectic routine. On Feb onwards, Emeryn started her Science tuition by Pn Jothi on Thurs evening and continue her BM tuition on Sat.

We went out for dinner at a new place, Kum Kee, an ala Hong Kong style restaurant behind Olive Tree Hotel. After our dinner we ventured into a new cafe, Reframe Coffee Roasters. The cafe has the most simplest decoration. Emeryn was loving her matcha green tea drink.

Emeryn attended her BM tuition as usual on Sat afternoon. While Emeryn was at the tuition, mummy spent her time at a coffee place, catching up with her Europe itinerary. After the tuition class, we headed to Por Por's house. We bought dinner there as well. Our initial plan was to ride the motorbike to Chew Jetty to join in the fun of celebrating the Hokkien CNY Day 9, known as "Pai Ti Kong" at 12am. Instead of waiting till 12am, we decided to go out riding at 8pm. There was a road closure before jetty and we were forced to take another route. Due to the traffic jam and mummy's limited confident in handling the machine, we decided to ride back to Por Por's house instead. Emeryn insisted mummy to bring for a ride to Karpal Singh before ending the excitement on the motorbike. After we returned the bike to Ah Kong, we headed home. It has been years since mummy last rode on motorbike and in fact it was quite scary. The pillion rider kept saying "Faster, faster, faster".

On Sun Emeryn attended her Cambridge class as usual before we head over to Por Por's house for our usual Sun visit.

 CNY Day 2

CNY Day 3

Mummy was working half day on CNY Eve and Emeryn spent her morning at home. We had our lunch at home before going over to Por Por's house later in the afternoon. While we were at Por Por's place, mummy's aunty from Ipoh arrived together with both of her sons. We spent time chit-chatting and catching up as we only meet each other once a year. Later in the evening we headed to mummy's granny's house for a reunion dinner while her cousins and aunty went to another relative's place. Before going on separate ways, mummy's cousin bro brought Emeryn to the field and they played fireworks. It was probably Emeryn's first time playing such "adults" fireworks. Later at night mummy and her cousins meet up at Love Lane for a drinks. We haven't been to downtown at night for quite a very long time ago and were very surprised to see the happening ambience there. It was just a short street and filled with small bars and cafes. We had our drinks there and leave at about 11.30pm.

The next morning, mummy's aunty and her family from KL arrived at our place at about 10am. After some quick refreshment all of us headed out for a meal. It was very tough for us to find a place to eat as most of the places were closed. We finally settled down at Sunshine Market food court and only Malay food are available. After having our meal, we dropped by at Than Siang Temple to offer prayers to mummy's grandparents before going home. It was a lazy CNY Day 1 for all of us. We don't go from house to house visiting but instead napping at home. Later in the afternoon we went over to Por Por's house. It is still very tough for us to find eateries, so we ended up having some really simple home cooked at Por Por's house.  Later we went for coffee at Easy Brew where Carmen Ee Ee and her family joined us. Not long after that, Theng Ee Ee and Ah Kong & Por Por joined us too. It was an almost complete family gathering except for Toki Ee Ee and Uncle Lin Chun who has yet to arrived. After the long gathering, we headed to Gurney Drive for some hawker delights before ending the night.

On CNY Day 2, we went over to mummy's grandma's home at downtown and managed to catch a glimpse of the lion dance before it ended. We stayed awhile for ang pow giving-receiving session and took family photo before leaving for our very own family reunion lunch. This year we had our lunch at CRC Restaurant. The service is very poor as the waiting time for each course of meal took us at least 15mins. We spent at least 3hours in the restaurant itself. We then drove to Botanical Garden for a planned family photo session. We are lucky as we have an in-house professional photographer in the family. All of us were drenched in sweat under the hot sun and decided to end the photography session early. We then headed back to our home for a rest before the rest of the family members join us at our home. Some of them went swimming, while some choose to stay indoor for some games. The games ended at about 11pm + and we went for late supper at Nasi Beratur.

We started our CNY Day 3 a lil' late as well. We had our brunch at the food court opposite jetty. After the brunch we had another family photography session at Chew Jetty. This session was much shorter compare to the earlier one. We had a lot of fun photographing each other albeit being soaked under the hot sun. After the family photo session, we dropped by at Por Por's house and we started a short game before we left for a meal nearby. After having the meal, we bid farewell to mummy's KL & Ipoh relatives. They are heading home right after. In the evening we went to Queensbay for a walk before having late dinner at the nasi kandar store.

We visited the old folks home on CNY Day 4, a yearly affair we practise in our family. Mummy went to Tesco to buy the necessities before meeting the rest at the old folks home.

Work and school resumes on CNY Day 5.
