First Trip to Ipoh for 2019

Ah Kong went for a check at Island Hospital on Tues and was admitted on Thurs as he undergone a minor surgery related to prostate gland. After mummy picked Emeryn from Discovery, we went and picked Por Por from her home. We then headed for dinner at Pulau Tikus before visiting Ah Kong at the hospital. He was doing fine after the surgery, albeit from having some inconvenient in moving his body as he was having tube in his bladder. We were there for almost an hour before we dropped Por Por home and we then headed home too.

Fri was a school holiday for Emeryn in view of Good Fri. Therefore mummy took leave too. We visited Ah Kong at Island Hospital in the morning along with Uncle Leonard before going to gynae to Emeryn's checking. After the gynae's visit, we hurried home for a real quick shower before heading to pick Karise up from her school. On our way to Ipoh, we bought chicken rice and the kids had it in the car. After about 2 hours of driving, we arrived at Ban Loong Hotel. It was located at the old town area and was pleasantly decorated in the heritage trail. After easing ourselves at the hotel, we walked to Nam Heong which is only 2mins away from the hotel. We had some light meal there and then walked around the street to kill time and to snap some photo. We went in to several toy shops and bought some toys for the younger kids at home. Then we walked back to the hotel for a quick refreshment before going out for dinner at 7.30pm. On our way to dinner, we passed by a stretch of Indian shops selling Indian costume. Mummy went down from the car to check the pricing and to her surprise it was very cheap. Mummy then quickly asked Emeryn to choose a piece and try it on. Voila, it suits her very well and after some bargaining, mummy paid only RM40 for a pair of Punjabi suit and they helped with some alteration. We met up with mummy's cousin bro and aunty for dinner at Lou Wong. After dinner, we walked around the local product shop and bought some biscuits. We then dropped the kids at hotel and collected the Punjabi suit before meeting mummy's cousin bro and aunty at a pub for a drinking session. We ended the night at about 11.30pm.

We woke early in the morning and visited my cousin bro's noodle stall for breakfast. After breakfast we drove around town and continued our shopping for local biscuits to bring home as souvenir. Later both kids stayed in the hotel while mummy & Uncle Leonard walked out for lunch and brought back lunch for them. After checking out from the hotel, we went straight to MAPS, full of energy. To our disappointment, the park was a let down with only minimal rides opened to visitors. We only bought about RM30-40 worth of coupon and had hard time utilizing it. We left in about 2hours and headed back to Ipoh for a meal before we continued our journey home.

School resumes as usual where Emeryn attended all her tuition as usual. Emeryn was down with sore throat for few days before mummy decided to bring her to the clinic on Fri evening. On Sat after her Dynamic class, we went home for a quick refreshment before going out to Emeryn's facial appointment. It was Emeryn's second time doing facial. She still face some tiny breakouts on and off. Mummy went to Mc Cafe while waiting for Emeryn. We dropped by at the florist to get Por Por's a small bouquet to celebrate her birthday. It was a glow in the dark flower.

Upon parking our car at our car park, we walked to Projek Nasi Lemak where Por Por choose that venue for dinner. Mummy bought a cake from Love a Loaf too. We celebrated Por Por's birthday over nasi lemak meal and ordered the special Lobster meal for Por Por and Ah Kong. After the dinner, all of them went to our playroom and spent about 30mins there before leaving. This year we did not get Por Por a gift but instead we gave her ang pow.

The next morning Emeryn attended Bestari tuition and mummy went to the market. Por Por was under the weather and is not cooking meals. Thus, mummy decided to cook. Emeryn had her late lunch after her class and commented that mummy's cooking were superb. She loves the watercress soup and kapitan curry and she gave 100% for both the dishes. Later in the evening, she went to the community hall with Karise as mummy disallowed swimming since she was having flu. We had the same meal for our dinner and spent the rest of the night at home.

                                                        1st tries on Rainbow Conetto

It was the first term school holiday of 1 week and mummy took leave for a day to spent with her growing-up Princess. This round we are not going places out of Penang but instead mummy brought her out for movie, just the two of us having the girl's date. We started our day with breakfast at Mugshot Cafe before rushing to 1st Avenue. We bought ticket right on the spot for Wonder Park show. As expected, Emeryn get really excited seeing all the claw machine outside of the cinema. After the movie, mummy allowed Emeryn a few tries but failed to grab anything.

We had our lunch at Emeryn's fav joint, Sushi King before mummy went to get a watch for her colleague's farewell. Before walking to the car park, mummy allowed Emeryn to have 2 tries on the claw machine as she was behaving well. On her first tries, she got herself a huge teddy and she jumped ecstatically. She was so happy that you can basically read it from her face. It was a priceless moment when she jumped in joy and exclaimed YES! We then left and headed to the hair saloon. After some negotiation Emeryn agreed to have her hair cut for the hair donation. And yes, you read it correctly. She's doing it for the 3rd time in her life. Mummy requested to cut 8 inches of her hair. She was ok and still smiling at the camera when mummy snapped her photo. Without realizing, her tears dropped while she was still at the saloon. She told mummy it was too short and she dislikes it. She cried uncontrollably the whole hair cutting session and continued to cry even when we were in the car already. It pains mummy's heart to see her crying over something so precious to her, her long silky hair. A sense of regret came floating in mummy's mind as she was the one convincing Emeryn for the hair donation. Mummy then dropped Emeryn at Dicovery for her tuition and went home for a shower. Mummy then walked to Solaria to have a hair cut too, in support with Emeryn who cu at least 23cm of hair. Mummy wanted to let her Princess know that she's supportive not just by words but with action too.

During the whole week of school holiday, one of those day Emeryn spent full day at Teacher Elaine's place, some morning at home, while some days at Por Por's place before going to Discovery for tuition. Past forward, the school holiday were almost over when we decided to hit the beach again on Sat. It was a very last minutes plan where Theng Ee Ee suddenly suggested a family dinner along with Sherine Ee Ee & family. Initially we planned to go downtown for dinner, but we ended up joining them. Before meeting them at Khuntai, we went to the beach. After the dinner, we spent some time strolling down the beach and enjoy the sea breeze before going home.

The next morning, mummy woke up earlier and went to the temple for the Cheng Beng prayers. Emeryn couldn't wake up on time, so mummy left her at home. After the prayers, mummy bought home breakfast for Emeryn before sending her to Bestari tuition. While Emeryn was at the class, mummy & Uncle Leonard went for their facial appointment before sending her & Karise to Por Por's house. Mummy & Uncle Leonard went for a meal and Prangin Mall to shopped for some clothing for the upcoming family photo shoot. Emeryn took home Por Por's home cooked for her dinner.
