Exam Week

Emeryn's 3rd exam started on 24th July. Prior to that we started our Science revision earlier. As usual during the exam week, mummy will surely sit down with Emeryn to revise every single nite before going to bed. It was definitely somewhat pressure week for both of us. Her exam ended on Thurs and mummy gave her freedom back on Fri. Emeryn spent her time on her handphone most of the nite, thereafter.

Emeryn attended her BM tuition on Sat as usual. Before her tuition, Uncle Leonard dropped mummy at Mc Donalds to grab a quick meal for Emeryn before dropping her at tuition. The poor girl gotta finished her meal in less than 5mins before going to her class. After the tuition, we dropped Emeryn at Por Por's house. Mummy & Uncle Leonard went out for dinner and dating. That night Emeryn stayed over night at Theng Ee Ee's house.

The next morning mummy picked Emeryn up from Theng Ee Ee's house before sending her to Cambridge class. After the class we went home and we both took a nap. Later we went over to Por Por's house at about 5pm for our usual Sun visit. We had our meal there before going home.

On Mon evening, mummy brought Emeryn downstairs for cycling. After cycled for 1km, she wanted to stop as she found it quite boring to cycle alone. Then mummy persuaded her to cycle for another 1km. In total, she cycled for 2km before going up to watch her Malay series at 7pm.

On Tues after work, mummy went to Giant for a quick grocery shopping before fetching Emeryn from daycare. That evening, mummy cooked her first spaghetti aglio olio for dinner. For a first attempt, mummy did very well. While on Wed, mummy cooked simple dinner especially to cater to Emeryn's needs of having rice. Uncle Leonard was on leave on Fri and he came over to our house and it was his turn cooking spagetthi aglio olio. His cooking turns out to be more tasteful. He also bought durian and mangosteen for us. That was our 1st durian feast for the year.

25months ago, Emeryn said YES to hair donation and she finally said YES again on Sun afternoon. Ah Kong & Theng Ee Ee commented on her long hair and she should have keep it shorter. After some comments from them, Emeryn decided to chop off her long locks. At first she was contemplating to chop it off or not but lastly decided to go ahead with it. We went to the hair saloon near Por Por's house and waited for about 30mins before getting her turn to wash and cut. She chopped off 11 inches of her hair and still look beautiful as ever. Beside, she was happy with the outcome. Mummy snapped some photos of the before and after hair cut. Mummy was super proud of her lil' princess for the generous move. Nevertheless, mummy's beautiful princess has the soft side of her for being kind. In life, mummy has learn that not just an academic high scoring paper can makes mummy proud but this episode has made mummy even prouder. We went back home not long after the haircut and Emeryn went for a swim. Later in the evening, Uncle Leonard came over and we made waffle topped with lotsa fruits for our nite dessert.

Happy 11th Birthday, Emeryn

birthday lunch @ Kiyomi Japanese Restaurant

ice cream treat @ Baskin Robin

@ Twelve Cups

 birthday gift from Mummy

 lunch @ Secret Recipe

Ever since Emeryn entered Primary One, she no longer get to celebrate her birthday at school. Instead mummy & Emeryn will celebrate birthday together either at home and go out for a meal. This year Emeryn's birthday falls on Sat and it was also a PH in view of the birthday of the TYT. Mummy brought Emeryn out for lunch as a small birthday celebration, just the two of us. We went to Kiyomi Japanese restaurant at Elit Avenue. Emeryn ordered and finished a set of salmon teriyaki on her own whereas mummy ordered some light ala carte for herself. We went home after the meal.

Later in the afternoon, Uncle Leonard drove us and Karise to 1st Avenue. Initially mummy booked a session at the Escape Room for Emeryn & Karise. Unfortunately when we were there, we were told that they have ceased operation. Emeryn was really disappointed over this as she has wanted to play at the Escape Room since many months ago and kept reminding mummy to bring her there on her birthday. Before leaving 1st Avenue, we brought the kids to Baskin Robin for some ice cream.

We then drove to Twelve Cups for some drinks and to kill time till we visit The Heritage event at Armenian Street. At Twelve Cups, mummy ordered a slice of matcha cake and we sang birthday song for Emeryn. After spending some time there, we walked to Armenian Street. We walked awhile before stopped by at the hawker session and ordered a meal there. After dinner, we continued exploring the event and the kids finally landed themselves with some activity. There were booths set up on guiding guest on how to write their names in various languages. After learning several languages, we decided to call it a day and walked back to our call and drove home.

Emeryn attended her Cambridge class on Sun morning. After the class, mummy brought Emeryn to QBM to shop for her birthday gift. After walking around and making some comparison, Emeryn decided to get a Smiggle small backpack. We then head over to Secret Recipe for late lunch. We shopped awhile before leaving to Por Por's house for our usual Sun visit. Later in the evening, we had Por Por's home cooked before going home.

Last Mon was still a public holiday, in view of the replacement of Hari Raya Puasa Day 2 and it also marked the last  2 days of school holiday. We had a date with Aunty Jenny and her family. Uncle Leonard fetched us along with Karise out for lunch at about 12pm. After lunch, we went to Theng Ee Ee's house to pick Baby Will. This time around, we are bringing him out to Gurney Paragon. As soon as we reached Gurney Paragon we headed to the skating rink. Aunty Jenny and her family were already there skating when we arrived. Both Emeryn and Karise joined the kids in the skating rink. Aunty Jenny's sister guided both girls on how to skate. Brave Emeryn successfully let go her hands off from the railing and start walking slowly yet carefully. Amazingly for the whole session of 1.5hour, she did not fall even once. After the session, we hang out a little while at the entertainment zone before going off. We dropped Baby Will at Por Por's place and went home for a swim later in the evening.

We went to the bicycle shop on Tues evening and after several testing, we decided to go for an upgrade. It was a birthday gift from Daddy to Emeryn and it cost RM470. While at the bicycle shop, mummy held on the bicycle seat from behind and guided Emeryn to pedal. After 2-3 rounds, she finally able to cycle on her own without assistance.

On Thurs nite, we went downstairs and let Emeryn cycle around the neighborhood while mummy did her slow jog trying to chase Emeryn. Emeryn did very well on her cycling. We went over to Uncle Leonard's house on Fri evening for dinner as he cooked us chicken porridge.

Emeryn woke up on Sat morning and requested to have porridge for lunch. Mummy made her cook her own porridge from washing and cutting the vegetables to cooking in the rice cooker. Mummy wanted to train her little girl being a full-functioning adult in few years time. It was in line with mummy's plan as Emeryn enjoyed the moment in the kitchen. She attended her BM tuition in the afternoon while mummy went to Sunshine Square to run some errand. That nite mummy made grilled chicken for dinner.

On Sun morning, Emeryn attended Cambridge Class and had her first exam for Project 5. We headed to Por Por's house after her class. Mummy went to fetch Uncle Leonard from the badminton center and went out for a light meal before heading over to Tesco to kill time. Mummy fetched Emeryn home at around 7pm.
