Family Hike

before the hike

Monday was a school special holiday after the school Graduation Ceremony. Mummy dropped Emeryn at granny's work place, the daycare center before going to work. Mummy then picked up Emeryn at 12.45pm where she took half day leave. We went to 1st Avenue as mummy needs to utilize the Parkson voucher before it expired. With the voucher, mummy bought a Princess tumbler and a set of Faber Castell color pencil for Emeryn, a preparation for her Standard One. We had our late lunch at Kim Gary before driving over to Convent Green Lane. Mummy wanted to show Emeryn the school during the recess time, where she could witness the real situation when she enrolls there next year. After that we drove over to Autocity as mummy needs to fetch her friend back to the island. We were there too early and none of the shops where open. We ended up at KFC where Emeryn asked for a meal. It was her early dinner. We had coffee at Starbucks after meeting mummy's friend before heading back to the island. He got us the infamous salted chicken from Ipoh and that was our wonderful dinner at home.

Mummy left Emeryn overnite at Por Por's place on Fri nite where she visited the most happening club at Penang, Soju Room. Mummy picked Emeryn on Sat morning and then sent her off to Art Class. Later in the afternoon we went out where mummy got her four tyres changed to a new one. Finally, we're in a much safer car after the new tyres are installed. While waiting for the installation we walked across the road and sat down for a light meal, nasi lemak and teh ais. Later in the evening, we had dinner with Tokkie Ee and the rest.

It was the Nine Emperor Gods Festival and it was the first time mummy and Emeryn join in the family hike to the 1200 steps mountain a.k.a. Cheng Yee Chan Temple on Sun morning. We started the day extremely early where we met for breakfast at Air Itam at 7am. After the breakfast, Theng Ee Ee drove us up to the Air Itam Dam where all of us gathered before the hike started. As usual we started off by snapping some photo. We started our hike at about 8.20am and it took us almost an hour to reach to the peak. Half way through Emeryn got tired where Uncle Lin Chun carried her for a short while and Ah Pak carried her walking down the stairs. We did our prayers before having our vegetarian meal there. Mummy and Emeryn went downhill first while the rest continued their prayers.

We left Air Itam Dam at about 11.50am and reached home by 12.30pm. We rushed for a quick shower before meeting up with Aunty Mei and Flo for lunch at Pappa Rich, egate. Aunty Mei Ling joined us later on. It started to pour heavily just before we left. We went over to Guardian while waiting for the rain to stop. We then headed home for Emeryn's late afternoon nap. In the evening, we had dinner at Super Tanker before sending Tokkie Ee Ee and Uncle Lin Chun off.

a day before graduation

outfit testing for the up-coming trip

It was a hectic week, a week full of activities. Mummy started to slowly pack all our soon-to-be winter clothing for our Japan trip. Prior to packing, mummy get Emeryn to try each and every pieces first. Mummy sent Emeryn to Art Class on Thurs as she was unable to attend the usual Sat class since the graduation ceremony fall on Sun.

Mummy bought Emeryn a bouquet of teddy bear (flower) on Fri after work before picking up Emeryn. We headed home after that. Later mummy's friend called up and then pick us out for dinner at downtown. We went for hokkien mee. That nite, we both slept early to prepare for the next morning agenda.

Emeryn wrongly informed mummy that we need to be at school by 10.15am, instead the correct timing should be 9.15am. Luckily mummy read the memo earlier in which we have to be at school by 9.15am. Mummy applied make-up for Emeryn at home, before heading out to Trinity. Both daddy and Beena Kor Kor also got Emeryn a bouquet of teddy bear (flower). She was the only one receiving flower and it was 3 bouquets in total. How lucky. Ah Ma was there along with Albert. Mummy kept herself busy by snapping lots of Emeryn's photo in her graduation gown and the mortar boards. Surprisingly Emeryn performed so well, something unexpected. Mummy sneaked to the front row and she was lucky to have a strategic place for snapping photo and video. The whole event ended at 12pm and mummy brought Emeryn to Mc Donalds, Green Lane for lunch. We spent the rest of the afternoon at home.

In the evening, mummy drove to downtown as she wanted to check the conversion rates for yen. It started raining heavily as soon as we left home. We then headed to 1st Avenue as mummy wanted to claim the frozen yogurt deal which she purchased online. Mummy and Emeryn had one cup each. After finishing it, Emeryn requested to go for movie and she selected a Cantonese movie, Love is Pjyamas. While waiting for the movie time, we went to Parkson where mummy splurge herself a Christine Dior Perfume, RM340 for 100ml by utilizing her RM50 voucher from Bonus Link during her birthday month. We then had our quick fix at Sushi King before rushed to the cinema. Emeryn asked a lot of questions during the show as she don't comprehend Cantonese. We went home straight after the movie.

The next morning, we woke up earlier than usual as mummy promised to bring Emeryn out for cycling during the car free day. Upon checking on the bicycle, mummy noticed that the tyres were deflated. We went to the nearby petrol station to pump it and then headed to Beach Street. It was our first time there and it was quite an experience there. Emeryn cycled while mummy walking and chasing from behind. After a few rounds, we stopped and went in to Whiteaways Arcade where we played 3 games there. Best of all, it's free for public. While heading to the car, Emeryn fell down from her bicycle and had a very minor scratch. Thou it was a very minor scratch, she started to cry so badly.

Mummy then brought her breakfast home while dropping Emeryn at Pekaka. Emeryn went out with Ah Ma and Ah Kong, visiting some relatives. Emeryn came home at about 5.30pm and then we went over to Por Por's place for dinner.

Happy 31st B'day, Mummy

Emeryn started to show some huge improvement lately by reading almost 60% of a simple story book. Mummy will help her to fill in the blanks with some difficult words and she managed some simple word on her own. Bravo, baby. Ever since then, Emeryn loves bringing storybook around and keep asking for guidance. It was a lil' irritating answering all her doubts but nevertheless it is a good habit!!!

Last Friday was mummy's 31st birthday. Just like every year, she will take a day off from work on her big day. Mummy dropped Emeryn at school in the morning and she went to the Japan Embassy to submit our upcoming Japan's trip visa application. Mummy then splurged herself a good breakfast at Winter Warmers and a shopping spree at Gurney Plaza. While it was her shopping spree, mummy still managed to find time to hop over to Popular to grab some revision book for Emeryn, as her Standard One preparation. Yes, the kiasu mummy. Mummy then headed over to Prangin Mall for lunch and continued with her shopping. This year mummy did not shop till her purse dried but she only got 2 pairs of legging. Yes, that's about it. Mummy then picked Emeryn from daycare and brought her to Sushi King as promised. We then headed home and Emeryn caught a quick nap while mummy get herself ready to party the night away. Emeryn stayed over at Por Por's place on Fri night while mummy went out celebrating her birthday with her gang.

On Sat morning, mummy picked Emeryn from Por Por's place and dropped her to Art Class. Mummy came home and catch up with her sleep as she was having bad hangover. At 12pm, mummy picked Emeryn from Art Class and brought lunch home for Emeryn and later continued her sleep up to 3.30pm. Finally the hang over went off. We spent the rest of the afternoon at home, lazying around before driving out for dinner at Thai Food Restaurant. It was a family dinner cum combination birthday celebration between mummy, Toki Ee Ee and Theng Ee Ee. The dinner was great and we headed over to Tesco for grocery shopping with all of them includes Sherine Ee Ee and her family. Mummy dropped Por Por, Ah Kong and Toki Ee Ee home before we went home.

The next afternoon, we went to Por Por's house for late lunch before mummy's facial appointment at 4pm. After her facial, we dropped by at Tesco @ Seri Tanjung to look for Emeryn's white lace socks for the graduation ceremony but we failed to find one. We then went to Lip Sin food court where we had dinner with Por Por, Ah Kong and Toki Ee Ee before they send her off at the bus station.

Happy Mid Autumn

Emeryn joined mummy for her monthly gathering on Wed evening. This round was Esther’s birthday treat at Chicago Ribs, Gurney Plaza. We reached there earlier than scheduled, thus we went for a window shopping to kill our time. We had a very sumptuous treat and even Emeryn had a big share. After our dinner, we visited Aunty Irene and her new born princess at GMC. Emeryn got so fascinated over baby Mandy and refused to go home. She absolutely loves baby.
Mummy headed over to the PC Fair on Fri during her lunch break. She bought a hdd for herself as she needed it badly to store all those photos she has captured for years. Out of nothing, she got a MP3 player for Emeryn at only RM29.90 and it’s purple in color. Emeryn loves listening to songs. In the evening, mummy left her at Por Por’s place where she catch up with dinner and drinks before picking her up at 11.30pm.

On Sat Emeryn attended Art Class as usual whereas mummy went to Tesco for her grocery shopping and also bought home some flower crabs. Mummy was in the mood for a crabby affair last weekend. She rushed home after Tesco and prepared her specialty, spicy crab to be delivered to Theng Ee Ee at her work place. After picking up Emeryn from Art Class, we headed to LWE for registration as her cough has yet to recover. We then drove to 1st Avenue to deliver the spicy crabs to Theng Ee Ee before stopping by at New Lane to grab the infamous pork intestine porridge. Emeryn had the porridge in the car while mummy was driving as she can’t hold back her craving any further. She finished almost all upon reaching LWE. We waited for almost an hour there before the consultation and returned home at about 3pm. At home, Emeryn enjoyed the spicy crab along with mummy and watched her movie while later mummy kept herself occupied with the dinner preparation, crab congee.

Emeryn fell asleep while watching her movie. She woke up later to have the congee but she doesn’t like it as much as the normal porridge which mummy always cook. We decided to head over to QBM as mummy wanted to check out her cardigan for her Japan trip. Emeryn was too lazy to walk, thus mummy used the stroller. Mummy ended up getting a dress and a cardigan for herself. Before going home, we hopped over to the sushi counter at Jusco and Emeryn selected the handroll. Emeryn then requested mummy to drop by at Times Square as she wanted to Beena Kor Kor for the lantern festival. Unfortunately we are unable to find a car park space, so we left for mummy’s hokkien mee. To satisfy Emeryn, mummy went to Esplanade for a short stroll.

On Sun morning, Beena Kor Kor fetched Emeryn and they went to her ROM. After the ROM, Emeryn followed them back to Pekaka while mummy had her “me-time” at home. Mummy picked Emeryn from Pekaka at 5.30pm and we went to Por Por’s house for our dinner. After our dinner, Beena Kor Kor sent Joel over to Por Por’s house and we then left to Beach Street for the Mid Autumn Festival. We witnessed some performance, game stalls, food counter and etc. Both the kids participated in some game and Emeryn won one of them. Before leaving, both of them enjoyed the B Boys & Girls performance and savoured a big sausage for their supper treat. We sent Joel back to Pekaka before we headed home.

Latest fb updates: “see the tiny scratch on her face??? Lil' cheeky impressed me twice yesterday with the scratch. 1st; I woke up only to realized she has her tiny scar removed using my concealer. She told me she has to look pretty for yesterday BIG day. 2nd; I asked if she tells Ah Ma that mummy accidentally scratches her face. She said "I told her that mummy purposely scratch my face" and followed by a cheeky smile.”
