Bonding Time with Mummy

 my poser baby

Mummy took half day off from her work on Fri afternoon to spend some time with Emeryn before going to KL for a nite. Mummy picked Emeryn from school at 12.30pm and we headed to 1st Avenue. After purchasing the movie ticket, we walked over to Prangin Mall for lunch. We stumbled upon a new yet crowded stall selling porridge and noodle. The taste of tom yam lured us to walk over and to check out what’s in store. We settled down and ordered Tom Yam porridge and Tom Yam noodle.  Well, the meal was quite good thou.

After filling our tummies, we walked back to 1st Avenue. While waiting for the cinema seat to be opened, we hang out at the open area and snapped many photos out of fun. We watched Storks, the new release. The movie wasn’t one of the best as the storyline revolves only limited characters and scenes.  After the movie, we had ample time before Emeryn’s Cambridge tutorial. Since we have no other agenda, we drove home for a quick refreshment. Emeryn’s tutorial starts from 7.15pm to 8.45pm. After the class, we had dinner at Yummy Restaurant before going home.

The next morning, mummy dropped Emeryn to school for her extra co-curriculum before driving back to her office. She gathered at Hotel EQ for her company event, The Annual Dinner before taking a chartered coach to KL. Mummy reached KL at about 2pm and she put a nite at PNB Perdana Hotel & Suites, which the accommodation was provided by the company.

Ah Kong and Por Por fetched Emeryn from school after her school activity. Emeryn stayed with them for a nite, spending time with Baby Will. The next morning, Ah Kong sent Emeryn to Cambridge class. Before the class, Emeryn had breakfast with Ah Kong and Por Por at Sunshine Market and they bumped into mummy’s schoolmate. Unfortunately Emeryn can’t recognize her. Ah Kong picked Emeryn after the class and waited for mummy to arrive Penang.

At the company dinner, mummy got herself a lucky draw prize, a blender cum shaker. Upon reaching Penang at about 2.45pm, mummy then drove to Por Por’s house and had her late lunch there. We stayed awhile before going home.

Happy Birthday, Ah Ma

 Ah Ma's birthday gift

 lunch before Pokemon hunting

 spending quality time

After coming back from our 2days 1 nite holiday, Emeryn celebrated Ah Ma's birthday on Wed nite. It was a last minute thingy where Beena Kor Kor contacted mummy in the afternoon. After picking up Emeryn from the daycare, we headed to Tomei @ Giant to get Ah Ma a gift. We decided to buy her a white gold earring. At first mummy shortlisted a few pairs of earring and the final decision was made by Emeryn. The sales promoter also helped us to wrap the gift and provided a greeting card. Emeryn quickly write some wishes on it before we headed home. Later in the evening, Kor Kor came over and picked Emeryn. They celebrated Ah MA's birthday at Morganfields. Emeryn came home near to 11pm and brought mummy 2 muffins. She was such a sweet lil' pie; always put mummy on her mind each time she went out.

Malaysia Day falls on 16th, Fri. Emeryn gave mummy another surprise by preparing coffee in the morning and placed it on the bedside table before mummy wakes up. Ah Kong and Por Por gave us a surprise visit during lunch hour. They bought us lunch. After having lunch, they took Emeryn with them to visit Baby Will. After visiting Baby Will, Emeryn followed them back home. Later in the afternoon Emeryn tagged along with Theng Ee Ee and Baby Will to Esplanade for the bear buddy photo shooting. Mummy spent her whole afternoon cleaning the store room and watch her tvb and later went over to Kaffa Cafe to catch up with her photobook. Theng Ee Ee dropped Emeryn home at about 8pm.

On Sat we had our breakfast at home before driving to town for late lunch. Mummy brought Emeryn to Cannon Street for some Pokemon hunting knowing that place is full of rare Pokemons. We had laksa before our hunting. The place was seriously crowded by Pokemon hunters. We stayed there for about 30mins before making a pitt stop at Esplanade, and then drove home. That evening mummy dropped Emeryn to Por Por's house as she has to attend a wedding dinner. After the wedding dinner, mummy picked up Emeryn at about 10pm.

The next day we went to Por Por's house for our usual Sun visit.

Some funny moments:

"The awkward moments when i have to call my daughter asking for ipad password when it's stated Selina's ipad and when she calls me to check on me asking, "Who are you with now?" after knowing I'm out having coffee."

Ipoh Trip

 Happy 8 Retreat

Concubine Lane

 M Boutique Station 18 Hotel

 hotel room

 Kinta River Waterfront

Imiirage

Hari Raya Haji falls on Mon, 12th Sept and the whole week coincide with the one-week school holiday. Mummy planned a one nite stay at Ipoh as there was a promotion on Traveloka. We booked a standard room a M Boutique Hotel Station 18 at about RM120. We started our journey to Ipoh at about 8.15am and reached our first destination at 10.40am. We went to Happy 8 Retreat Cafe for our brunch. The lil' quaint cozy cafe gave a very warm feeling. Mummy snapped many photos of Emeryn posing beautifully. There was a small place for Emeryn to enjoy feeding the fishes and turtles. After having our brunch, we spotted the Concubine Lane by chance and of course we dropped by. There were many shops selling variety of handicrafts and smaller items as well as food and drinks on the go. We didn't spent much time hanging there as it was extremely hot. While walking to our car, Emeryn insisted to stay awhile at the dog's adoption corner. She happily picked the puppy she wanted and asked permission to carry it. She continued begging mummy to allow adoption but mummy refused. She was definitely very persistent but again mummy won the battle. Emeryn was a lil' upset thou.

We then headed to M Boutique Hotel but wasn't allowed to check in until 3pm. We then ordered some drinks and hang out at the cafe. The place has a very jazzy vintage kinda look and we fell instantly in love with it for sure. The exterior and interior of the hotel win hands down. After being able to check in, we rested for 2hours or so before driving out for dinner at Oversea Restaurant. After the dinner, we went to Kinta River Waterfront. In conjunction with the Mid-Autumn Festival, there were some events going on. Emeryn brought along her skateboard there but could hardly play as the place were quite crowded. We drove back to the hotel at about 10pm.

The next morning we had our breakfast somewhere near to the hotel. Though it was a random food court, the food were good. We went back to the hotel after breakfast before checking out. Mummy has made a reservation at Imiirage after knowing the place offers a on-of-a-kind dining experience. We went for the lunch buffet at RM29.90/adult. Our meal were served overlooking a huge screen that surrounds the entire restaurant making you feel like you are in a different world. We were very lucky as there was 2 different screen interchange during our lunch. We had the Tokyo Aquarium and Paris view. It was a very new experience for us and we ordered at least 3-4 different main course. This place definitely worth a second visit. We were running out of places to go after lunch, so we hit the highway and headed home at about 3pm.

When Emeryn recovered from her sickness, the virus was passed to mummy and finally mummy was down on Tues. Mummy went to work on Tues morning but couldn't survive another half day so she took MC. After visiting the clinic and bought lunch, mummy headed home for a much needed rest. Mummy dragged herself out from the bed and proceeded with her monthly gathering which was planned much earlier despite being unwell. After the gathering, mummy picked Emeryn home from her tuition. Before heading home, we went for the Cambridge Parents-Teachers meet up session. To mummy's dismay, Emeryn has to repeat P3 for another semester as she failed the minimum criteria. It was definitely the saddest day for both mummy and Emeryn.

Wed was a public holiday, Malaysia's Independence Day. Thou it was a public holiday, Emeryn was having her replacement tuition in the morning. While Emeryn was at the tuition, mummy went to Tesco Popular and grabbed some revision books for Emeryn. Yes, mummy was still upset and swear to push Emeryn to excel further. After having our lunch at home, mummy started to get Emeryn to do some of the workbooks. Since it was a day off for us, mummy also wanted Emeryn to enjoy the day. Mummy brought Emeryn to her favorite hang out place, the beach. Mummy's friend tagged along with us. As usual we drove to Teluk Kumbar and Emeryn had her fun time on the beach. We don't have many places to go nowadays as we are staying very far from town. So most of the time, we only opted to go to the beach instead. It started to drizzle after about 45mins we were there. So we quickly packed our stuff and walked into Khuntai to have our dinner there.

Mummy set an appointment for her car service at 12pm, Sat. Before going to the service centre, we bought lunch knowing it's gonna be a long wait at the Nissan centre. We had our lunch at the waiting area and mummy continued her photobook project on her notebook while waiting. We then collected the car at about 3.30pm and headed home. At home, Emeryn requested mummy to prepare the ingredients to do slime. Mummy hasn't hear a word about "slime" before and had no idea what it is. So, mummy googled up and found some ideas. Luckily we have some of the main ingredients and its substitute . Roughly we figured out how to do it. The end result wasn't what Emeryn has expected but still she had a good time trying on it. Later in the evening, we tried Nasi 7 Benua for dinner. It was our first time having it and the rice were quite special, with 7 different types of rice. Well, it was just another nasi kandar with different types of rice. After filling our tummies, we drove around the housing area to catch Pokemon. We also stumbled upon a Chinese finger puppets show while driving around. We stopped the car and went down to check on it. It doesn't excite us much so we left in just  10mins.

On Sun, we had a simple breakfast at home before heading out for a late lunch at Sunshine Square food court. After having our meal, mummy bought mooncakes for the daycare teachers as a gesture of goodwill for their effort and time spent on Emeryn. We then drove to the four faced Buddha to offer prayers and next proceeded to The Reclining Buddha. That place brought back a lot of old fond memories where mummy brought Emeryn before when she was probably 3 years old. Emeryn has revisited the photos and videos mummy took at The Reclining Buddha, thus she can remember the resemblance in the photo. We took some photo for the old times sake. Before going to Por Por's house, we dropped by at Esplanade as it was holding the Penang United Buddy Bears outdoor exhibition. 149 of the friendly bears will be standing on the Malaysian island of Penang as a symbol of tolerance and living together in peace until October 31. Thus, the 2 m tall statues add another attraction to Penang's Capital Georgetown, which was constituted UNESCO World Heritage in 2008. After the visit, we went to Por Por's house for our usual Sun visit.
