 Emeryn & Baby Will

Last Tues Emeryn refused to go home with Ah Ma when she was there to pick her up as she hasn't finished cooking her tang yuan in view of the winter solstice celebration. She brought home some for mummy. The next day was the X'mas party at her daycare. They had huge selection of food and the party basically runs the whole day and ended with a goodie bag and a gift from the centre. Emeryn received a Sofia the First food container and she was absolutely happy with her gift.

It was a public holiday on Thur in conjunction with Prophet Muhammad's Birthday and we headed to Por Por's house at about 11am to help Theng Ee Ee to babysit baby Will. We stayed there until 7.30pm and had a simple dinner before leaving home. The next morning was X'mas day and Beena Kor Kor came over in the morning as she wanted to borrow some winter clothing for herself and Jazlynn. After she left, we got ready and headed to QBM for their yearly X'mas musical performance. The performance for this year isn't that great compares to the previous years. The musical ended with artificial snow falling from the top floor. We roamed around the mall and captured some photo with X'mas decoration before catching our late lunch at Winter Warmers. It was Emeryn's suggestion on our lunch venue. We shopped a bit before going home.

On Sat morning, the FV management staff came over to rectify our defect on Emeryn's room. Luckily it only took him awhile to settle it before we went for the X'mas gathering luncheon. On our way to Ahmo, we dropped by at the library for Emeryn to return her books. We were the first to arrive for lunch. Before our meals are being served, we did the gift exchange. It has been a tradition for mummy's gang to do so on yearly basis. Other than mummy, Emeryn also received gifts from mummy's friends. Each of them got Emeryn a small gift. In return, mummy also prepared a potpurri gift set on behalf of Emeryn to distribute to every of mummy's friends. After the luncheon we went for Emeryn's half yearly eye check. Emeryn was merely disappointed as she still does not need a spectacles for now. She busied herself with choosing the frame as soon as we stepped into the shop, assuming she would need one. We hopped over to Tan Mark and grabbed some discounted work books. We then dropped by at the most "amazing" X'mas decoration opposite Gurney Paragon. It was a private residential area with decorated heavily like Disneyland. We snapped some photo there before heading to Por Por's house.

We had our lunch at Jalan Tengah on Sun noon before going to Udini Square for the Poney sales. Mummy bought 2 pairs of pants for Emeryn and the total amount entitles her for 2 free photo shoot on the spot. We were unprepared for the shoot but nevertheless Emeryn is always ready for camera, anytime, anywhere. After the photo shoot, we walked across to Tesco for a quick grocery shopping before driving to Por Por's place. After having her meal, Emeryn followed Ah Kong to Karpal Singh Drive where Ah Kong jogs and she plays on her skooter.

sPice Aquatic Centre Soft Opening

 @ sPice Aquatic Centre

On Mon during lunch, mummy purposely drove to Jusco just to get a set of color pencil for Emeryn but unfortunately Emeryn took mummy for granted. She made mummy feels unappreciated for. Sigh… Kids nowadays don’t know how to appreciate the value of a gift. Got Emeryn a surprise color pencil for her as she has been asking for one lately. I thought she would be really happy seeing it but she showed me “long black face”, saying she wants a watercolor pencil and not a color pencil. She added that I did not choose properly because there were scratches on the box.  Mummy got extremely upset with her reaction and decided to start a silent war with her. Instead of lash it out on Emeryn, mummy choose to keep her cool and avoid talking to Emeryn. Mummy punished Emeryn by not buying her dinner and she has resorted to eating biscuit for her dinner. That whole night mummy & Emeryn did not communicate at all.

The next day Emeryn apologized and slowly we both got back into conversation. Theng Ee Ee was admitted to LWE for having her waterbag broke and we’re expecting a new addition to the family soon. She finally delivered a healthy baby boy at 1am, Fri. Emeryn can’t wait to visit the baby and mummy brought her to LWE on Fri during lunch. Emeryn accompanied Theng Ee Ee in the hospital for the whole afternoon until mummy got off from work at 6pm. Mummy, Por Por and Ah Kong visited Ee Ee and her baby in the evening. After the hospital visit, we had dinner together before going home.

On Sat, mummy cooked winter melon soup using the magic cooker for the first time. We had our simple lunch at home before going for the soft opening of sPice Aquatic Centre. Aunty Jenny, Aunty Grace and their kids joined us at the aquatic centre too. The kids had the water play for about 2 hours and had some light refreshment before calling it a day. After the water play session, we headed to Por Por’s house to visit Theng Ee Ee and her baby.  Por Por cooked a simple dinner for us before we headed home.

On Sun, mummy cooked porridge for lunch before attending a gathering at St Presso. Mummy fetched Aunty Sandee on our way to coffee. She hasn’t been meeting her Secondary School friend for at least 16years. Aunty Kelly & Aunty Jane joined us for coffee too and all of us had a long chat and catching up. After the coffee, we went to Por Por’s place for our usual Sun visit and had our dinner there. Emeryn glued herself to Baby Will all the times and she got really excited waiting for Baby Will’s feeding time as she wanted to play with him. Back home in the evening, mummy baked some van houten chocolate muffin for our breakfast on the next day.

Finally our year end holiday starts with our kampung style staycation at the Sahom Retreat Farm at Gopeng. Mummy took 2 days leave on Mon & Tues to avoid the weekend crowds. Other than both mummy and Emeryn, mummy’s friend tagged along. We started our journey at about 8am. Our first stop was Nam Heong Kopitiam. Unfortunately mummy has selected the wrong place on Waze and we ended up at a commercialized Nam Heong Kopitiam; instead of its original set up at the Ipoh Old Town. As we were too hungry to drive further, we had our meal there.

After filling our tummies, we stopped at the Qing Xin Ling Leisure & Cultural Village. It was a beautiful place surrounded with natural limestones and a lake. It was also echoed as the Mini Guilin for its breath taking scenery. It was as though we were transported back to the olden years where we witnessed many items we haven’t seen in real life. We took a quick one round of the free bicycle ride before heading to our main destination, Sahom.

We checked in to Sahom at about 2pm. To our disappointment, there is no fishing equipment available. Thus, the fishing plan was cancelled. We had a shared meal before checking up our chalet at Kampung Buluh. It was equipped with simple and basic necessities with two single mattresses on the floor and a semi open (roofless) bathroom. It doesn’t takes us long to get ourselves comfortable in the small hut. The chalet also has a nice veranda overseeing a running stream. We then drove around the kampong area to check out other chalets, walked to the river and dipped our feet into the cold running water and also catching fish with our small fishing net at the stream. When it started to drizzle, we drove back to the chalet to a rest before having our dinner at about 8pm. Since it was a kampong staycation, we ended our nite early.

The next morning, we had our breakfast at the same cafeteria which offers the same menu. The menu has limited choices but it doesn’t stop us from having a meal. After breakfast Emeryn played badminton in front of our chalet before we check out at 12pm. The whole kampong experience was surrounding ourselves with the rhythm of crickets, having cold shower, playing by the riverside, fish catching, sleeping on thin mattress and buzzing mosquito with just a blowing fan. It was indeed fun to escape from a busy town to a refreshing retreat like this.

After checking out, we headed to Ipoh again for lunch. We went to Big Tree Food Garden to try its famous yong tau fu. After lunch, we headed to Seng Kee Heong Peah at Gunung Rapat and bought the famous heong peah and other makan stuff. It is located at the vicinity of a residential area and using traditional method of baking. Mummy still doesn't give up in locating the original Nam Heong Kopitiam as she really wanted to go the chinese medical shop next to it to buy her tea. After navigating to the correct destination using Waze, we finally found it. Mummy happily stocked up her tea and walked across to Sin Yoon Loong kopitiam to buy their famous white coffee. After buying everything, we started our journey home and finally reached home by 6pm.
Emeryn was still feeling a bit unwell on Thurs, having blocked nose every morning. So mummy brought her to Klinik 1 Malaysia after work. We are definitely impressed with the whole process including registration, consultation and prescription all done in just 10-15mins. We are still in time to catch Emeryn's favorite local series at 7pm.

On Fri, Emeryn went for a movie date with daddy. Daddy picked her at about 1.30pm from daycare and headed to Queensbay. They both watched Peanuts (Charlie Brown and Friends) at 2.20pm. After the movie, daddy allowed Emeryn to play at the amusement park before dropping Emeryn at mummy's office. Emeryn waited for about 25mins at the hotel lobby before following Aunty Jenny home. After clocking out from work at 6pm, mummy went over to Aunty Jenny's house to pick Emeryn home.

On Sat, we went out for our late lunch and bought some essential baking stuff before baking at home. This round mummy made Emeryn helped on the baking and we baked Milo muffin. Emeryn loves the muffin and had 2 pieces right after the baking. We didn't go out for dinner as we have bought dinner home when we were out for lunch.

The next morning, we had the muffin for breakfast before going out for lunch. We bumped into mummy's cousin and his family during lunch. After lunch, we headed to Children Protection Society as we wanted to donate some of Emeryn's story books which she has outgrown them. We had a quick tour at the building to understand further. After visiting the place, Emeryn wanted to go to the library. We spent about an hour there before heading to Por Por's house for our usual visit and dinner.

Update from FB: The highlight of the day isn’t about her movie with daddy but its about how happy she was when she finally got herself a toy from the toy crane vending machine at the amusement park.
