Mummy failed to savor a good tom yam during our Hatyai trip and had been craving for it. So on Tues after fetching Emeryn from daycare, we went to Khun De for dinner. We ordered tom yam soup and stir fry kangkung. Both were spicy dishes. Emeryn's tolerance level of spiciness exceeded any adult, anytime.

As Emeryn's birthday is just around the corner, mummy started to search online for some ideas for party park and etc. Earlier mummy has ordered a canvas print, which shown a poster related to Unicorn to match Emeryn's birthday cake theme. Mummy also printed some unicorn favor bag decorative items. After sending Emeryn to tuition class on Thurs evening, mummy went to Mr DIY to search for paper bags and gifts. Mummy was very lucky as she managed to get 19 unicorn related gifts which consist of foam toys, some stitching stuff and others. That evening mummy also ordered a plain paper bag from a Facebook seller and collected it the next evening. In just 24 hours, from searching online, purchasing the goodies gifts, printing & cutting, ordering online & collecting, sticking the print out and finally putting the gift in place. Birthday party is on the way!!!

On a very last minutes arrangement, mummy booked a photography session for Emeryn & Karise on Sat at Star East Bridal. We got a really good bargain where we only paid RM585 for 2 albums which consist of 20 photos each, 3 dresses, 3 hairdos and an 8R enlargement photo each. On Sat morning, we drove to Star East at Butterworth at about 9.30am. The whole session started at about 10.15am and ended by 2pm. We were amazed with their studio both indoor and outdoor, which were nicely decorated. After the photo session, we went to Thong Lor for late lunch at Icon City. We drove home after lunch.

We went over to Por Por's house for lunch on Sun before Emeryn attended her Sun tuition. Uncle Leonard went to play badminton while mummy hang out at Bread King before her manicure session. Mummy picked both Emeryn & Karise home after tuition. On our way home, we stopped by near Emeryn's daycare to scoop some soil for her school project. Her school teacher needed her to plant an onion.

Trip to Hatyai

 @ Wine Village

@ AhMa dim sum
 @ Hatyai Municipal Park

 coconut ice cream

 @ Khlong Hae floating market

Mummy took half day leave on Raya eve, as her office is closed on the second half of the day. We drove to Hatyai as early as 7.30am. The whole journey was smooth and there was a bit of jam while crossing the border. As soon as we reached Hatyai, mummy quickly googled for recommendation for lunch. We then settled at Kan-Eng Chinese Thai restaurant for lunch. We ordered 5 dishes and all of them were as good as the review, except the Tom Yam soup wasn't what mummy was looking for. After lunch, we drove to the hotel and we finally reached the hotel at about 12pm+ local time. We waited for at least 30-40mins before we are given a room. We booked 2 rooms and requested for a connecting rooms. We took a refreshment before going out again.

This trip mummy has searched for several a-must eat at Hatyai. Our next destination was A Little, a Cantonese dim sum restaurant. Although the food prices here are slightly high but it does not compromise on its quality. We ordered several dishes like chee cheong fun, siew mai, har kao, xiao long pao and 2 different type of porridge. The kids entertained themselves by doing some coloring provided by the restaurant crew. After the light snack, we headed over to Wine Village, a new place mummy stumbled upon online. The most stunning view here was the high castle building. There is a beautiful garden & restaurant and some small attractions like petting farm. We bought carrots for kids to feed the animals there. After feeding, they both enjoyed the carousel ride and bought some cute chocolate as souvenir before we left. We then drove back to hotel for a short rest before walking out to the nite market at Lee Garden. We had our dinner at the nite market and walked around the surrounding before walking back to the hotel.

The next morning, we woke up early and drove to Ama Dimsum for breakfast. This is another famous dim sum place at Hatyai. After our sumptuous breakfast, we drove to Chang Puak Camp where the kids had an elephant ride. We also tried our luck at the mini fun fair but failed to win any gift. We then visited Hatyai Municipal Park which consists of attractions like Guan Yin Temple, Golden Buddha and the cable car. We were basically drenched in sweat and got really tired due to the hot and humid weather. Next, we went to Lee Garden for an indoor shopping and the kids requested for the bath bubble foam. We then walked at the surrounding area and had the infamous bird nest and coconut ice cream and lastly bought some noodle back to the hotel. We had a short rest before visiting the Khlong Hae Floating Market where lots of boat selling food. There are also a small shopping bazaar and a walking street selling small souvenirs, clothing and accessories. We had our dinner there before leaving. We called it a nite after a fun-filled tiring day.

On our last day at Hatyai, we took a tuk tuk to Chok Dee as requested by the kids. They wanted a ride on the tuk tuk instead of us driving there. Mummy and Uncle Leonard had their breakfast at Chok Dee whereas the kids wanted a different type of breakfast. Thus, they dined at a restaurant beside Chok Dee. After our breakfast, again we took tuk tuk back to our hotel. The kids choose to stay in at the hotel and enjoyed their bubble bath while mummy & Uncle Leonard went to the morning market for some last minutes shopping. For lunch initially we wanted to go to Bankampu but the queue was too long for us to wait. So we decided to have chicken rice beside Bankampu. To our dismay, the queue was equally long and we waited very long for our lunch. The food was ok but the price was incredibly expensive. Our last stop was Big C where we shopped for many types of junk food and some groceries.  We only managed to cross the border after quite a wait at about 8pm. Since it was raining, we were forced to dine at a random nasi kandar stall before continuing our journey home. We reach home slightly after 11.30pm.

Happy Father's Day

We reached Penang on Sat late night at about 11.30pm after stopping at Changlun for our dinner. Our Hatyai trip was a brief one and we managed to spent quality as a family. Uncle Lin Chun and his family put up a night at our place as all of them came over to visit Toki Ee Ee and her newborn baby girl.

We woke up at about 10.30am the next day and get ready for our Father's Day lunch at Yang Jia North East Cuisine at Pulau Tikus. Uncle Leonard drove us there. Toki Ee Ee came out from the confinement center to join us for lunch. After lunch Emeryn & Karise followed Ah Kong & Por Por out whereas mummy and Uncle Leonard went to Le Parfait for their wedding photo layout viewing. After the photo viewing, they both went to Gurney Paragon and Starbucks before going over to Por Por's place to pick both of them. They both decided to followed Ah Kong and Por Por to visit Toki Ee Ee and baby at the confinement center. Mummy and Uncle Leonard went home before meeting all of them again for dinner at Sungai Ara. After dinner, Ah Kong and Por Por dropped Uncle Lin Chun to the airport and we went home.
