Mummy took a day off on Fri and we headed to Taiping along with "Uncle Uncle". He was going back to his hometown, so mummy took the opportunity to make a trip to Taiping as well. He was our local guide there showing us around. Mummy offered to drive and we started our journey at 8.30am. It took us an hour to reach Taiping. After doing some research on Taiping, mummy wanted to try the food at Restaurant Kakak. We ordered the koay teow soup and dry koay teow, and not forgetting the infamous Kakak Peng which serves as combination of barley and nescafe. It definitely worth a try.

After our fulfilling breakfast we headed to the Taiping Lake. Our first stop was the lake side where we snapped some nice photo with the angsana trees and the scenic view of the lake. We then stopped at the park where mummy took Emeryn for her cycling lesson. after few tries, she still failed to cycle on her own. Out of frustration, mummy walked back to the car to get the training wheel leaving Emeryn with Uncle Uncle there. While walking towards the park with the training wheel on her hand, mummy saw Emeryn cycling on her own. Woo hoo!!! Finally she can cycles and of course the credit goes to Uncle Uncle who patiently taught her. Emeryn commented "He is a good teacher because he don't scold and beat me while teaching me how to cycle". Mummy felt ashamed with her comment. We spent another hour there making Emeryn familiarize with her new skills, even though we sweat terribly. Mummy also took some video of Emeryn while she cycles.

Next we headed to Tune Hotel and checked in. Uncle Uncle left while mummy and Emeryn had a good rest and a shower before heading out for our late lunch. We had our lunch at the Larut Matang Food Court and tried the specialty there, fried dry koay teow. After our lunch we drove around the small town and mummy bought some biscuit. Eventually Emeryn fell asleep in the car. Running out of places to go, we decided to give Kuala Sepetang a shot. It is only 12km from Taiping. We finally reached the jetty after getting direction from the locals. We took some name cards back for our next trip to Kuala Sepetang. Then we headed back to the hotel.

We went out for dinner at about 7.30pm and tried a new food. It was a combination of laksa and curry mee and surprisingly the taste blends very well. Then Uncle Uncle dropped us at the Night Safari after helping us to purchase the discounted entrance ticket using his local id card. It was our first time visiting Night Safari and mummy don't think it worth a visit during the night time. We hardly see any animal given the limited lighting there. Another concern was the safety where only the two of us walking in the dark surrounded by the bushes. We walked for almost an hour, covering 70% of the whole area before boarded a train to tour the area. In total it took us 2 hours to finish exploring the night safari before Uncle Uncle dropped us back to the hotel. Emeryn ended her night near to mid-nite as she insisted watching the tv programme before her bed time.

The next morning, we woke up at 8.30am and went out for breakfast after getting ready. We drove around town after our breakfast before checking out at 11am. We then head over to Sentosa Villa, suppose to be a private property and walked in as though we are the guest there. Emeryn loves the villa surrounded by lush greenery and mother nature. It was a perfect lay back holiday. There are few small streams that run through the resort, a breeding place for arowana and other fishes. Ducks, turkeys and hens were also seen running freely at the nature path. Emeryn took off her slippers and set her foot into the streams, joining the rest of the guests there. After spending a short time there, we drove to Maxwell Hill and Burmese Pool without going into it.

Our final destination was to hunt for the famous mee udang at Mak Jah Restaurant @ Kuala Sepetang. We made our journey there and savored the much awaited meal. After filling up our tummies, we drove home.
