Raya Break

Sam Poh Tong

Kwan Yin Tong

@ Kellie's Castle

Last weekend was Raya holiday, consists of 4days break. We decided to have a short break at Ipoh and explore the hot spring at Felda Residence. It was the Mah's family outing. We started our journey on Sun 7.30am. We meet Carmen Ee Ee and Sherine Ee Ee at the bridge's toll and thereafter started our journey. We finally reached mummy's aunt, Ah Ku's house at about 9.30am and started to unload some of our luggage before heading out for breakfast in two cars. We visited the common hawker's place for a quick breakfast before visiting Sam Poh Tong. It was more than 15years since mummy last visited the place. We snapped some photo over there and venture parts of the surrounding area before going over to Kwan Yin Tung. It was filled with Kwan Yin's statues and again we did not missed the chance to shoot. The Mah's family love taking photo and yes, a lot of it.

We then drove to the town and had the infamous ice kacang to quench our thirst after being burned under the hot sun before driving towards Tar College's area for our late lunch. We had pan mee recommended by Onn Zai. It was already 3pm when we were about to start our journey to Sungkai. The weather wasn't kind enough throughout our journey. It was a heavy pour but it does not stopped us from heading to our main destination of the trip. We reached Felda Residence at about 4.15pm and quickly purchased our tickets. We were indeed lucky as the rain stopped almost as soon as we stepped into the park. We went to the cool pool with slides, followed by the foot reflexology before mummy took out the eggs she brought from home. There was an area where we were allowed to cook the eggs and amazingly we managed to have it hard boiled. We then proceeded to the hot pool, where the water is warm enough for us to be relaxingly soaked. It was about 8pm when we finally decided to make a move after cleaning up ourselves. We left the hot spring and headed to Ipoh town hoping to enjoy the bean sprout chicken. We were rather unfortunate as it was already sold off, so we settled with Ipoh koay teow and some other specialty. We went back to Ah Ku's house and stayed over for a nite.

We woke up at about 8am the next morning and headed out for dim sum after everyone has gotten ready. Our initial plan was to have dim sum at Foh San but unfortunately the queue was too long to bear. We had our dim sum in another restaurant, the same stretch as Foh San. We went to shop for local biscuit after the breakfast and Emeryn requested mummy to buy her mooncake. We bought 2 pieces of mooncake and then we drove over to Kellie's Castle. It's a must visit place at Ipoh. We then headed to Eco Park before going back to Ah Ku's house. Again it was pouring heavily and we have no choice but to wait until the rain stopped. We went over to Ipoh town to have the bean sprout chicken which we failed to get it last night. We were lucky that it was still available although it was a long wait, worth while anyway. We headed home as soon as we're done with the meal. The traffic was quite bad at the beginning and started to ease after an hour of driving. We finally reached home at about 10.15pm after sending Ah Kong and Por Por home.
