Week of Dessert

It was Emeryn’s second week of swimming lesson. Basically this Intermediate course sharpens Emeryn’s skills on freestyle, back stroke and underwater submersion. Every morning, mummy sent Emeryn to the class while some of the days Ah Ma picked Emeryn after the class. Mummy took half day leave both on Mon & Tues for the swimming class arrangement and to settle the tenancy agreement. Emeryn attended daycare half day in the afternoon.

The whole of last week, it was a dessert week where mummy cooked red bean and sweet potato dessert soup. Emeryn’s preference for red bean soup is without the dried tangerine peels whereas she don’t like the sweet potato at all except for its sweet based soup.

Mummy’s cousin sis from KL came to Penang for a short trip with her bf and mum on Sat. All of us meet up for a family dinner at the new food court at Karpal Singh Drive. After the dinner, we continued the gathering over coffee at Macallum Connoisseur. The gathering ended around mid nite and Emeryn started to feel unwell.

On Sun, we were too lazy to go out for a meal. Thus we settled with a simple western breakfast and porridge for lunch. We went to Tesco to run some errand before meeting Carmen Ee Ee at the Four Faced Buddha for a prayer. After the prayer, we headed to Por Por’s house for our usual Sun visit and had our dinner there. For the month of Dec, mummy stopped Emeryn’s art class for a month due to our hectic schedule.

2016 Year End Holiday CHECKED

 

 Due to the high spending on renovation for our new home, mummy has not bought any flight ticket for this year end holiday. As for this school holiday, we have resorted to just a 2 days 1 nite kampung style holiday after Emeryn has completed her JAWS Intermediate Program. As the school holiday begins, Emeryn starts her 2 weeks swimming lesson at the Bukit Jambul Golf Club. On Mon, mummy has successfully booked a flight ticket to Busan, Korea on 2016 year end, bringing along Por Por, Ah Kong, Ah Pak and Ah Mou.

Mummy took leave on Tues as the Malay tenant is moving out from our old house and mummy spent the whole day cleaning the place and to get the plumber to fixed some of the plumbing issue before handing over the house to the new tenant. After the swimming lesson, Emeryn tagged along with mummy at our old place before going over to Pekaka after lunch.

Last week mummy tried making chilled mango with sago pearls but the texture came out a bit too thick. On Thurs evening, we went for a swim and Emeryn successfully swam from one end to another without stopping. A new achievement unlocked for her!!! On Sat, mummy woke up to a mess in Emeryn's room where she kept herself occupied making herself looking beautiful. She uses her make up kits and mummy's cosmetic to do a make over and wore her hair band. As for lunch, mummy cooked and we spent the whole afternoon at home catching up with our tvb series.  In the evening, we went to Hotel Seri Malaysia for the AGM of FV. It probably took us only an hour before we headed home again.

We woke up early on Sun and drove to town where we had dim sum breakfast with Ah Kong, Por Por and both Ee Ees with their spouses. Mummy's cousin bro and his family joined us for the breakfast too. After the breakfast we went to Beach Street along with Ah Kong & Por Por for the car free day event. We spent a short time there before going off as the day was very hot and humid. We were literally sweating. Mummy left Emeryn with Ah Kong & Por Por and she went home. Ah Kong & Por Por later sent Emeryn to her art class and mummy picked her up at 4pm.

Update from FB >>> Emeryn: Mummy, I have a good news for you. Me: Yes, what's that? Emeryn: I can swim freestyle very well already. Even my coach also said GOOD.

20th Nov was officially the last of the schooling calendar and that means it's the end of the after-work madness for mummy bracing through the heavy traffic at the FTZ. Yay!!! The whole week mummy kept herself busy making dessert such as the chinese herbal jelly a.k.a. guilinggao and dried longan with sweetened winter melon and also baked chocolate & banana cupcakes. This round both the cupcakes were such a hit for Emeryn. Emeryn loves it and had most of it. 

While Emeryn was spending her Fri evening at Pekaka, mummy went to Tesco to do some grocery. Ever since sampling the banana fritters from a cafe, mummy has got the hang of it. On Sat, mummy tried her very own version of banana fritters with vanilla ice cream & dark chocolate syrup after going out for a quick lunch with mummy's friend. Emeryn attended Art Class on Sun as usual before we head over to Por Por's house.

As for the Mini Model Search 2015 organized by QBM, Emeryn wasn't selected to the the final. So sad but we will try again next year.

 Mini Model Search

In view of the Deepavali celebration, the school closed from Mon - Thurs. Emeryn has been asking mummy to allow her to organize a sleep over with her classmates and her daycare friends. Mummy rejected her request for a sleep over but suggested a playdate instead. She agreed to have a playdate out of no choice. Since Mon was a school holiday and the parents are at work and eventually mummy took leave, so the playdate was set on Mon. After sending mummy's car to check on the tyre, we headed to the daycare to pick up Natalie and Ann Nee and headed home.

The girls spent their entire 4hours+ on endless activities such as playing masak-masak, dressing up, play-doh, fashionista make-up, pedicure, hand tattoo, badminton, skooter, rock climbing, indoor and outdoor playground. Mummy cooked spagetthi bolognese for lunch. The playdate ended at about 3.15pm and mummy dropped them back to daycare before going to the tyre shop to fix her tyre. We spent the rest of the afternoon at home and mummy prepared fried bee hoon for dinner. 

Tues was Deepavali and Emeryn woke up early as usual to watch her favorite cartoon on tv at 8am. While watching her tv show, she made herself breakfast, chocolate milk with 2 slices of bread. After finishing the show, she spent her time doing some painting on her own. We went out for lunch at about 1.30pm. Instead of going downtown, we headed to Teluk Kumbar to avoid the massive traffic jam on public holiday. Finally we got the chance to try the much-talked about Laksa Tempurung Teluk Kumbar. Well, as for the taste, it is very normal and only its presentation stand out from the rest. It started to drizzle when we were having our meal. We drove around while waiting for the rain to stop and found a little treasure hidden place. The place has a bridge to the sea and we can see some fisherman coming back with the boats. Emeryn loves the beach a lot and she kept herself occupied by collecting sea shells. Later she joined a group of Malay girls digging snails on the beach. It was her first experience doing so and she absolutely enjoys it. She found at least 10 or more snails and brought them home.

On Wed, Emeryn attended daycare for full day as mummy was working. After work, we went over to QBM as Emeryn tagged along to mummy's monthly gathering at Winter Warmers. After the gathering, we submitted Emeryn and Wei Wei's entry to the Mini Model Search 2015. Ah Ma picked Emeryn from school on Fri evening and mummy picked Emeryn home after she had her dinner and drinks with her friend.

We went to QBM on Sat about 11.50am to avoid the long queue for the Mini Model photography session. Emeryn was too hungry and insisted to have her lunch instead of waiting for the registration counter to starts. Mummy brought her to Porridge Time and order her meal. Mummy seated for awhile until the meal was served and left Emeryn alone having her lunch. Mummy went and queued up and eventually got num 30. It wasn't too long to wait for the hairdo and make-up to be done before proceeding to the photography session. It's all went well until we waited in a long queue to collect the photo. The waiting was at least 1 hour and 15mins and mummy ended up purchasing additional 2 pieces of the photo shoot. We left QBM at about 4pm. We went home for a rest before attending a wedding buffet dinner at 7pm. The whole Mah's family were there as well. We only stayed for a while after having our meal before going home as there wasn't any other activities available.

On Sun, Emeryn attended Art Class as usual after we had a quick lunch. While Emeryn was at the class, mummy went to Mikea to accompany Theng Ee Ee for her lighting selection. After the class, we went to Por Por's house and had our early dinner there before meeting mummy's friends for a drinks at Daily Dose. We left at about 8.30pm and attended a pre-AGM upon reaching home.

Update from FB: A promise is a promise!!! She said "I'll give you RM100 if you can go to the next level." After trying twice, I did it. She then went to her room and dug her piggy bank and handed me with RM100. I told her just to buy me a piece of cheesecake will do but she insisted her way and placed RM100 in my handbag. 

Ah Kong's 61st Birthday

Last week routine was rather very plain and there is nothing much to update. Emeryn attended Art Class on Sun afternoon and we celebrated Ah Kong's 61st Birthday in the evening. We went over to Por Por's house while waiting for Theng Ee Ee to join us for dinner at 7.30pm.  

While heading to the dinner place, mummy's car got punctured and luckily Ee Ee's hub came over to help us change the spare tyre before we head over for dinner. We intended to have Taiwanese hotpot but we changed our mind due to the long queue. We then hopped over to Chok Tai Dee for Thai cuisine. After the dinner, we headed home.

Emeryn has lost another tooth a week ago and she placed it under her pillow; waiting for Tooth Fairy. She kept asking if mummy is the Tooth Fairy and she was very skeptical about the existence of a Tooth Fairy. So, she wrote a letter to Tooth Fairy that night asking Tooth Fairy to draw a picture of herself.


Took from FB: Children's love are so pure and once they loved, they love unconditionally. Once they forgive, they forget too. She gave me the only chocolate she has, given by her daycare teacher; forgetting how I lost my temper during our revision together just yesterday.

 Mummy's new hair style

Last Sat was a replacement school and mummy sent Emeryn  to school at 7.30am. After dropping her, mummy went for a morning walk at Bukit Dumbar along with Kelly. Mummy spent at least 45mins there before having a quiet breakfast alone at D'Fat Mona Lisa. After her breakfast, mummy drove around to look for a hair salon and finally decided to have a hair make over at Larry's. Mummy wanted to chop off her long up for donation, just like what Emeryn has done earlier. Mummy was at the hair salon from 10.45am till 2pm. It was such a long wait just to cut her hair short and had a hair treatment. Emeryn had her hair trimmed as well. After leaving the hair salon, we bought our lunch home.

We spent the afternoon at home, before driving to Gurney Paragon at 6.10pm. It was mummy's monthly gathering with her gang and they are celebrating mummy's birthday month. Due to the heavy pour, we decided to go to Pasta Zanmai. After the yummy meal, we continued the gathering over some coffee at The Library. Emeryn wanted to look around for Halloween related activities but unfortunately there ain't much activities going on except for a Halloween dance. We left Paragon at about 10.45pm.

We had breakfast at home on Sun morning before Emeryn's art class. While Emeryn was at the class, mummy went over to Por Por's house to tarpao dinner for Emeryn as we planned to go Botanical Garden for some "fishing". Unfortunately the weather weren't very kind with us as it started to rain as soon as art class ended. So we have to cancel the plan and head home. Later in the evening, we went to the playground and played badminton.
