Amphawa Floating Market & Wat Bang Kung

 @ Wat Bang Kung

 @ Amphawa Floating Market

Emeryn was having fever as soon as we touched down at the Dong Muang Airport and unfortunately mummy did not bring along her medicine. We waited for Sherine Ee Ee to join us at the airport as her flight was scheduled to touch down 15mins after us. After meeting her, we took an airport shuttle bus to Mo Chit station. Over there, Carmen Ee Ee waited for us as she arrived a day earlier. Our initial plan was to visit JJ Green market as soon as we reach Mo Chit but the place was too crowded to cater for our luggage. We only managed to have a quick meal there before grabbing a taxi back to RetrOasis Hotel. The taxi ride was extremely long which took us about an hour as we were stuck in a bad traffic. As soon as we have checked in, mummy walked to the 7-11 to get the panadol syrup for Emeryn. Not long after taking the med, she looked much better and joined Sherine Ee Ee resting at the pool side late at night.

On our second day at Bangkok, mummy pre-hired a van driver. Our first destination was the famous Chatuchak Market. We reached Chatuchak slightly after 9am and filled up our tummies before starting our shopping treat. We spend about 4.5hours there before heading to our second destination. The Maeklong Railway Market was closed for renovation and we only managed to catch a glimpse of it from the moving car. We then went to visit the Wat Bang Kung. Wat Bang Kung is famous for the small chapel that is completely enclosed within the roots of a banyan tree called Bot Prok Po. It is almost like the tree itself is the pillars of the temple and that without the roots the chapel would fall down. We bought some prayers item and prayed. We then went to Amphawa Floating Market. We are quite unlucky as the river was dried up due to the hot season. Thus, we do not get the chance to enjoy the boat ride. We toured the whole market on foot instead. Emeryn was getting weaker as she has not fully recovered.

The journey back to Bangkok took us 2 hours. We stopped by at the hotel to leave our shopping bags before getting the driver to drop us at the Talad Rot Fai night market. The journey took another 45mins. We had our late dinner at the market and only managed to walk for an hour before grabbing a cab back to our hotel.
