 our dinner

After school on Wed, we hurried home and had a super quick dinner before heading downtown to pick Ah Kong, Por Por and Toki Ee Ee. Mummy booked a cab from her office, Hotel EQ to the airport. We parked our car at EQ and off we headed to the airport for our flight to KL. We touched down KLIA2 at 10pm. KLIA2 was impressively huge and it took us about 10mins or more to reach to the arrival gate. We waited for Sherine Ee Ee who came and fetched us for a quick sleep-over at her place before our next flight to Guilin. We had supper before heading back to her place for a rest. We only managed at most 3hours nap before waking up at 4am. At the airport after document verification, we had breakfast before boarding.

The flight took about 4hours and we landed at Guilin slightly after 10am. Our initial plan was to take a shuttle bus to Guilin city before transferring to our hostel. We bumped into a tour guide who offered us a ride right to our hotel door step at CNY60. Though feeling a little fishy, we boarded the taxi with the given cheap rate and the convenience. True to our instinct, the tour guide make a stop at the tour center and kept on selling us the Lijiang Cruise. We insisted not to book the tour and walked off by saying Thank You. The tour guide then drove us to Wada Hostel with the promised rate. Wada Hostel is a backpacker hostel and it is creatively decorated with unique set up. Mummy booked a private 4-bedded room.

Without wasting more time, we left the hostel after check in. We asked for direction for our next destination at the hostel reception before leaving. We had our first meal, lunch next to the mall opposite our hostel. All of us had fried rice and the portion was seriously huge. To go to Reed Flute Cave, we took two buses to connect us there. With the clear instruction given by the hostel, we have no problem reaching our destination. We bought our entrance ticket at the hostel with a slight discount, CNY90 per pax. Upon reaching the Reed Flute Cave, we have to convert our ticket to the entrance ticket. Most of the tourist visiting Reed Flute has their very own tour guide but we don't since we traveled on low budget. Most of the time we just tagged along with any tour group to listen briefly to their introduction of the limestone formations. Reed Flute Cave is filled with a large number of stalactites, stalagmites and rock formations in weird and wonderful shapes. The cave was brilliantly decorated with colorful lighting. We spent at least 1.5hours exploring the cave.

After exiting the cave, the pathway leads us to a beautiful lake. While walking towards the lake, there are some stalls selling souvenir and Emeryn bought a glass pendant - doggie shaped which comes with a red string, use as a necklace. There was a middle aged man kept asking us to go for a bamboo rafting offering us a very low price till the end, but we refrained from taking the offer. We then took a bus back to Guilin city which took about 40mins journey. In the city we walked for another 1.5hours along the busy street before getting the second bus transit back to our hostel. That journey was a short one which lasted about 5mins. We had dinner upon alighting from the bus. We tried the spicy and sour noodle which was very spicy and their mix fruit dessert. Por Por and Ah Kong refused to have street food as it doesn't look too tempting for them.

We went back to the hostel after our dinner. It was a tiring day for all of us with sleepless nite and a long walk for the whole day. After getting ourselves rejuvenated, we headed to the street again at 9.30pm. We don't have time to visit the mall as it closes at 10pm. It was just a short walk in the mall before we explored the building next door. It was a boutique row with many eateries and boutiques available. We left an hour later with sore foot. We called it a nite near to mid nite.
