Children Adventure Camp 2013

mummy's packing

 1st day - reporting in

campsite

day 3 - going home

It took mummy awhile to figure out how to pack for lil's cheeky's 3days 2nites camp. First in last out or last in first out? Finally mummy decided to pack in a smaller package for each day and then labelled them according to day 1, 2 and 3. Mummy choose those white plastic bags to pack so that she can write on it clearly. Mummy labelled them according to different category such as: bath (towel, swim suit and toiletries), sleep (day 1 and day 2 nite), day 2 morning, day 2 evening, day 3 morning and another package for spare clothing. Each day morning package inclusive of t-shirt, long pants, panty, socks and mosquito repellent sticker.

The most awaited day finally arrived and surprisingly mummy was the one having sleepless night a day before the camp. We woke up at 6.45am and get ready for the camp. After having her milk and dressed, mummy grabbed some breakfast for Emeryn on the way to Youth Park. We reached Youth Park at 8.05am and proceeded with the camp registration. The briefing started at 8.30am and the children co-ordinators started to spot-check every bag to make sure no food, no handphone, no ipad, no psp and etc to brought in during the camp. They then walked to kids to the campsite and to leave their luggage before going with their program. Mummy left with heavy heart at about 9am and went for breakfast with Aunty Jenny and family.

After the breakfast, mummy went to Gurney Plaza for her shopping. After walking for 5hours, she managed to get a dress for herself and some revision books for Emeryn. Mummy then headed for a quick lunch before dropping by at the campsite to check on lil' cheeky. After some searching, mummy found Emeryn and her team was at one of the station playing the station game. Emeryn also spotted mummy there. Mummy left after 10minutes. In the evening mummy accompanied daddy to the campsite to check on Emeryn. Parents are strictly prohibited from visiting, so both mummy and daddy stood by the side of the campsite and have a glimpse of Emeryn. Luckily enough Emeryn spotted mummy and daddy there. We left after 15mins and headed for a meal.

On Day 2 of the camp, mummy dropped by in the afternoon again to check on her. Too bad, Emeryn didn't notice mummy was there. Shortly mummy left and proceeded with her shopping day 2.

On Sun, day 3 was the day the kids are allowed to go home at 12pm. After having breakfast, mummy drove to Youth Park and picked Emeryn. My tough baby finally completed her 3days 2 nites camp. She confessed that she cried uncontrollably on day 2 nite because she misses mummy. Then mummy asked if she would like to join the camp again next year, she quickly answered YES!!! Obviously she enjoyed her first camping experience very much and mummy believes the camp has taught Emeryn to be a tougher kids and to be more independent. Another plus point is, the camp makes her realize how much she needed mummy with her all the time. It certainly has tighten the mother-daughter relation.

We went to Por Por's house for a quick lunch before heading home. Before having her lunch, Por Por helped to extract Emeryn's shaky front tooth. It was her 4th tooth being extracted. At home, mummy insisted Emeryn to take a nap in the afternoon as she looks tanned and tired. She must be going under the hot sun for the past 3 days. She then slept for 4hours before mummy woke her up for dinner. She continued her sleep not long after taking her meal.
