Emeryn had a BIG Fall

day 2                                     day 3

 day 3

day 4

On Wed after school we went to Popular Book Sales at Midlands Park. It was the member's day. It was supposed to be a quick book-shopping but we ended up spending 2hours there. We were starving right after buying the books and Emeryn repeatedly asked mummy to leave. We headed to Mc Donalds at Sunrise Tower for our dinner before driving home.

Disaster starts pouring in on Thurs. As usual mummy would walk into the school compound right in front of Emeryn's class before the school bell rings. It was a total different last Thurs, whereby some of Emeryn's classmate came running towards mummy. Immediately mummy felt there was a sense of something has gone wrong. The kids shouted "Aunty, Emeryn fall down". Mummy hurried her steps towards Emeryn and found her crying so badly, sitting on the bench while holding her left leg. The PJ teacher explained that Emeryn fell while running. Some teacher and onlookers came and offer help. Emeryn screamed so badly when mummy lifted her up and she was in a great pain with her body shivering. It wasn't any common fall and mummy reckoned thing ain't that simple judging on Emeryn's expression. Mummy gently carried Emeryn to the porch and she drove her car over. We then headed to LWE emergency unit. After waited for almost 2hours, we had Emeryn's x-ray done with our empty stomachs. It was very tough to have Emeryn's x-ray taken as she was unable to straighten her leg and have problem lying down. Emeryn was still sobbing all the way. Finally the doctor confirmed she had a fractured bone and needed to admit for further treatment. Mummy asked to be allow to go home and come back the next morning to consult the orthopedic. That evening onwards, our live journey became tougher to walk where we had sleepless nite as Emeryn was still in tremendous pain.

The next morning, daddy went to LWE and did the registration for Emeryn. We went back to LWE at about 10.30am and the doctor ordered a cast to immobilize Emeryn's leg movement. Emeryn wasn't really co-operative at first and after some coaxing she gave in. Luckily she managed to have the cast installed without sedation with both mummy and daddy stood next to her. Next, we proceeded with the admission procedure. After the procedure was done, mummy went home to do some packing while leaving daddy taking care after Emeryn. We opted for a single room as we wanted more privacy and Emeryn needs a better rest. Even with the cast on, Emeryn was still in pain and we both are learning and struggling adjusting to the new challenge. Going to the loo is a big problem for Emeryn was she can't bend her leg and can't afford big movement on her leg. Mummy was having hard time taking care of her too. Ah Ma, Beena Kor Kor and Albert visited us in the afternoon, bringing porridge and some food. Later in the evening, Por Por and Ah Kong dropped us a visit and mummy took the chance to go home for shower and had her dinner before coming back to the hospital again. Mummy stayed at the hospital that nite to take care of Emeryn.

The next day, Sat and it was Day 3. Por Por and Ah Kong came to the hospital again in the morning. Mummy went home again after Emeryn had her milk and cleaned Emeryn. While mummy was away, Emeryn went for another x-ray to make sure she did not injured her hips. Mummy came back to the hospital in an hour time and we were scheduled to go to the rehabilitation center where Emeryn practised to walk with the clutches. My tough baby was doing fine and she has stopped whining too. After having her lunch, we consulted the doctor again before he released Emeryn, which means we are allow to discharge. We left at about 3.30pm  after taking the prescription. Mummy drove to the Kids Library where we returned the books that we borrowed 2 weeks ago and then drove home. Later in the evening, Beena Kor Kor sent back the stroller to us. The stroller was a great help where Emeryn could sit comfortably in it and mummy don't have to carry her around the house.

On Sun morning, daddy came and visit Emeryn and also brought us food. While at noon, Por Por and Ah Kong came over to our place and brought Emeryn her favorite porridge and soup. Mummy went to Popular while Por Por and Ah Kong took care of Emeryn in the afternoon. They left as soon as mummy reached home. Despite having walking difficulties, Emeryn still insisted on doing her school homework and continued with some other activities. She was coping really well. Bravo!!!
