Renee's 4th Birthday

the preparation

b'day girl

Emeryn joined mummy at her monthly gathering on last Wed at Waka Japanese Restaurant, City Bayview Hotel. Japanese food seems so far in the mind for now but we are not granted a choice since it was a pre-planed birthday celebration of Amanda. Mummy ordered an additional chawanmushi just to satisfy her lil' cheeky's craving.

Last weekend was a real hectic weekend, filled with fun-filled and fruitful events (wedding and 2 birthday celebrations). Ah Ma picked Emeryn from daycare on Fri afternoon and she spent a nite at Pekaka whereas mummy attended her ex-uni mate's wedding along with Aunty Mei Mei at Hard Rock Hotel. Emeryn changed her mind and decided to tag along to the wedding dinner. She called mummy to pick her from Pekaka but unfortunately time was running short to do so. After the wedding dinner, mummy, Aunty Mei and several friends proceeded to Soju Room for some mind-boggling nite.

Ah Ma dropped Emeryn home the next morning before the Art Class. Later we bought lunch home after Art Class and also had some fruits fiesta. Mummy urged Emeryn to get her afternoon nap before attending Renee's birthday party in the evening. After the nap, we got ourselves readied for the grand party at Gurney Hotel. Emeryn dressed perfectly for the event and the theme was Royal Birthday Party. The party was really posh and chic with nice and soothing decoration in pink. After the dinner, the kids were kept entertained by the clown with some magic show and some funny dance. There were also two game stations for the kids where each of them are guaranteed a gift, not to be disappointed. Next, it was the karaoke session for the adult and last but not least the infamous Gangnam dance by all the guest, the young and the old. Before adjourning the party, they gave out several gifts. And Emeryn was crowned the Best Dressed Princess and she received 3 story books. We headed home after the prize giving by Renee.

Emeryn woke up early on Sun morning but mummy decided a longer sleep for herself, where Emeryn went out to the living hall and kept herself occupied with her own stuff. After waking up, mummy got herself and Emeryn readied for the National Horse Show at Penang Turf Club which mummy has promised Emeryn earlier. We left home at about 1pm and headed out for our lunch at La Salle before the horse show. It was another hot sunny day when we arrived but slowly the weather turned very kind to us. We walked around and started visiting the horse and pony breed displays. We then headed to bazaar which showcase the souvenir for sale, face painting, drawing and some food & beverage. The children are also treated to a puppet show and balloon sculptures by the roving clowns. Those looking for a more exciting activity can try the ‘Flying Phoenix’, a mechanical rodeo “bucking horse” and try to set a new record of mounting the mechanical horse for the longest time. We went over to the pony rides station and waited for almost an hour just for a short ride. Nevertheless, Emeryn enjoyed the ride and even requested for another round. Before leaving Turf Club, we went over to the breeds display and continued with what we have missed out earlier.

We headed home a quick rest before going out to pick Ah Kong and Por Por. We went to Goh Teo Kee Restaurant for Ah Chor's 85th birthday celebration. After the dinner, we dropped by at Toys R Us, Gurney Plaza and grabbed a skipping rope requested by Emeryn, utilizing the RM20 voucher we had. It was a week full of happy celebrations.
