Medan Trip

Last Tues was Jammin Senzation school holiday. Thus we need not attend the class. On Fri morning, daddy dropped mummy for her body massage while daddy brought Emeryn for breakfast along with grandpa. Daddy fetched mummy after an hour and we headed home right after that. Emeryn took her afternoon nap while mummy continued with her last min packing. We are heading to Medan this holiday along with por por, toki ee ee, ah ma, kor kor and ah chor. It was such a havoc before we finally board the plane.

First Toki Ee Ee called mummy at 3.15pm and she was stucked at Johor bus station. She is supposed to be at LCCT by 8.30pm to catch her flight to Medan to join us. No matter how fast the bus speed, she will not make it on time. Like wise, mummy always quoted she is a fan of latecomers. No doubt, it's too true not to believe. Daddy suggested that she alight at Seremban and takes a taxi straight to LCCT. Finally Ee Ee makes it on time to the airport. Secondly, when we were about to check in 30mins before the flight, granny just noticed that she took the wrong passport. Both she and kor kor's passport were left at home. Gosh, how could that be? Lucky enough ah kong drove to the airport and they managed to check in. Mummy was seriously being pressured handling both situations.

We reached Polonia Airport, Medan at about 8pm. We were greeted by our tour guide upon arrival and we had our dinner while waiting for Ee Ee to join us after an hour. We had packed chicken rice and wandered around the airport after our dinner. Nothing impressive about the airport and it looks like a bus station compare to an airport. Ee Ee's flight was delayed and we waited for 1.5hours. After meeting her, the tour guide sent us to the hotel at Medan, City Inn. We were impressed with the hotel as it was very spacious and clean. All of us slept quite late that nite.

The next morning, we had our breakfast at the hotel before leaving to Parapat. It took us about 4.5hours journey. We had lunch before our excursion by ferry to Samosir Island. The ferry took about an hour to reach Tomok Village. We shopped along the Tomok Village before visiting the sarcophagus / grave of Batak Toba Kings. Next, we visited the Ambarita village to witness the stone court and meeting place which were used by the native ancient time. The driver sent us to Toledo Hotel right after the visit. The surrounding of the hotel was very soothing and it is sea-viewed but too bad, the room condition was a lil' not up to our expectations. We took our shower before heading for our sumptuous yet yummy dinner at the hotel. After our dinner, we walked to the night market and enjoying the soothing breeze. We stopped by at a bar and watched a local traditional musical group performing. We called it a nite after that.

Our third day started as early as 5.45am as we wanted to spend more time for leisure. We ordered packed breakfast from the hotel and headed back to Parapat via ferry. We had our breakfast while cruising back to the island. Upon reaching Parapat, we hired a "skuter" (a so-called engine boat) and went around the side of Lake Toba. It took us about 40mins. After that we visited the ex-president residential and again we shopped till we drop at the morning market. The tour continued with lunch at a chinese restaurant. We left to Brastagi after that and visited the Long House of Batak Simalungun Kings. We also visited the Sipiso-Piso Waterfall, a slender stream from a great height in the Karo highlands. We continued our journey after that and the driver stopped us at another afternoon market. We took a horse carriage to tour around the city before continuing with our shopping. We headed to Mikie Hotel right after that. It was a 4 stars hotel and it looks very luxury and high end. Among all the hotels provided by the package, Mikie Hotel was the best. Yes, the best. Even the dinner and the breakfast were so good and the service was indescribable. Excellent room, facilities and meals. Two thumbs up :)

Our last day ended at Medan. It took us 2hours ride to reach Medan. Upon reaching, we visited the Chinese Temple and the batik shop. We had our buffet lunch before heading to Medan Mall and our last stop was at Sun Plaza. Mummy bought a Polo baby tee for herself and a tee shirt for daddy. Too bad, mummy can't find a small size for Emeryn. We went to airport after that leaving Ee Ee alone at Sun Plaza as her flight was 3hours later after ours.

Daddy picked us from the airport and we went for dinner upon reaching Penang.
