Mummy Went to Langkawi

Before mummy flew to Langkawi on Sat, mummy brought Emeryn to KFC, Green Lane on Fri for dinner. Mummy wanted to spend some time with her baby before leaving for her short break. Due to mummy's flight was on 4.15pm, we rescheduled her Art Class before GB Maths class on Sat. Mummy dropped Emeryn to Ah Kong right after her class before hurrying to the airport. Emeryn spent her weekend with Por Por and Ah Kong till the following Mon.

Updates from fb: Kids nowadays are too technology savvy. Monday - she had a phone call. Tuesday - they exchanged several smses. Wednesday - they are on wechat discussing their school homework.

 

Goodbye, Karpal.

It was a sad week, learning that YB Karpal Singh has passed away in a car accident. Mummy was more than determined to attend the wake of the late YB. Somehow Emeryn knows who is the late YB Karpal was. We had fond memory of him especially last year during the election campaign. His huge banner was everywhere near our residential area. And yes, he was the Bukit Gelugor constituency. During that same time, Emeryn was in her cast and on her stroller (a replacement for wheelchair) after her leg injury. She was having the cast for at least 6weeks and mummy used to teased her. Mummy has to pushed her everywhere she goes, which reminiscent the late YB Karpal. Each time when mummy teased Emeryn of being the late YB's girlfriend, she would got mad. That's the memory we had. So mummy asked if Emeryn wanted to attend the wake along with mummy and she replied "Yes".

On Sat, Emeryn attended her classes as usual and mummy picked her at 5pm. We then headed straight to the late YB Karpal's residence. A traffic congestion started about 400m before his residence. We parked at the Youth Park entrance and walked across to hi residence. We queued to go into the living hall to pay our last respect and bade him farewell. The crowd was tremendously supportive and the visitors come from all walks of life. We donated to the Gurdwara foundation and to Michael, the late YB's aide. After leaving his residence, we bought dinner home and spent our evening at home.

Mummy woke up early on Sun to catch the live screening of the late YB Karpar's funeral aired on ubah.tv. Emeryn spent her morning watching her favorite movie. We headed to Por Por's house at about 3pm for our late lunch before going home again. Mummy started to do revision with Emeryn for her school exam preparation.

Eyeball Soup, anyone???

I laughed so hard following our conversation after guiding her the wrong answer.

Emeryn: Why didn't you read properly?
Me: It's your homework, not mine. You are supposed to read, not me.
Emeryn: Later I'll remove your eyes and cook eyeball soup.

Eyeball soup??? Heard of it before??? Lol

It was definitely a fun-filled weekend. One of the day after school, we had our dinner at 600cc and Emeryn ordered the kids meal. The set comes with fresh milk stored in a milk bottle which truly captured Emeryn's attention. After the meal, she wanted to bring home the milk bottle but mummy stopped her.

Our fun-filled weekend started after Emeryn attended all her 3 classes on Sat. Mummy made breakfast that morning and Emeryn shared it too. After Art Cass, we went to the playground at Green Lane as mummy spotted some tecoma trees and intended to shoot some photo there. After the photo shooting, Emeryn had some time at the playground skipping away and enjoyed the park facilities. After trying for about 2 weeks, she finally can skip. After sweating it out, we bought dinner home.

We started our Sun earlier than usual as mummy has bought a movie ticket via online. We had a quick bite at home before driving to Gurney Paragon TGV, the newly opened cinema. We watched Rio 2 at 11.50am and Emeryn bumped into her school mate at the same cinema. After our movie, we satisfy our tumbling  tummies at Morganfield's before hopping to the Cartoon World. Again mummy has purchased a deal for the Cartoon World  earlier. Emeryn started off with the playpen area while mummy left for a quick shopping. On and off mummy would walked over to check on Emeryn. Before leaving the themepark, Emeryn bravely tried on the skating. It was her first experience and mummy accompanied her all the way. Mummy held onto her hand and guided her. Mummy has never skate in her whole life before, thus has no idea how it would be. Mummy went into the skating ring barefooted to guide Emeryn. It was quite a good experience for a first timer and Emeryn did not fall even once. We headed over to Por Por's house after that for our dinner and our usual visit.

Por Por's 54th Birthday

 

   

 

 

On Fri evening, mummy dropped Emeryn at Por Por's place while she went out for her casual Fri outing before bringing Emeryn home at 11.30pm. Emeryn was already asleep when mummy reached Por Por's place. On Sat, Emeryn attended her 3 classes as usual while mummy tried to get more sleep as she was having mild headache. We came home after Art Class before driving to the airport to pick up Toki Ee Ee. Ee Ee came back to give a surprise birthday celebration for Por Por. We then went for a Thai dinner @ Tan Jetty.

We planned for a birthday lunch for Por Por at Starview, New World Park on Sun. Before heading to the restaurant, mummy bought a cake and a small bouquet of flower for Por Por. Mummy's granny joined us for the lunch as well. After the birthday lunch, we went to Prangin Mall as Por Por needed to get a dress for Theng Ee Ee's wedding next month. After visiting several shops, Por Por decided on a glamorous black gown. We went over to Por Por's house after the shopping to kill our time before meeting Sherine Ee Ee and family for dinner. Baby Zhi Wei was at the dinner too and Emeryn glued herself to him. She absolutely adores baby. We headed home after the dinner and Ah Kong sent Ee Ee to the airport.

The 1 week school holiday officially starts on Mon. Mummy took leave as we had an appointment with the psychiatric in General Hospital. We went out from our home at about 8.30am and it took us several rounds to find a car park, thou it was not a proper car park space. We started with the outpatient department (001) with registration followed by a simple check by the GP. Wonderfully the whole process only took us 20-25mins before we proceeded to the Psychiatric Department. As earlier mentioned, mummy suspected Emeryn has attention deficit disorder (AD) where she can't stay focus for long. We are getting a second opinion from GH as the assessment charges by Adventist is too costly, RM2,000. From the first check up, Dr Lai prescribed a medicine which will makes Emeryn stay focus for a longer duration. Mummy's preference on treatment is surely not medicine to be taken orally. Dr Lai scheduled another follow up on 15th Apr, which probably daddy will bring Emeryn there. GH has practically improved so much from many years ago. From consulting the GP, to the psychiatric and lastly collecting the medicine, it only took us 2 hours in total. Thumbs up!!!

Next we headed to Glow, a newly opened chic hotel by Zinc at Macalister Road. Mummy ordered the set lunch which comes with onion soup, honey glazed roasted chicken, sweet potato with coconut cream as the dessert and an iced lemon tea for herself and spaghetti chicken bolognese for Emeryn. Surprisingly Emeryn enjoyed the onion soup and the dessert too. The restaurant was nicely decorated with funky and colorful portraits. After our delicious lunch, we went to 1st Avenue to catch a movie. We were so lucky to reach on time before the screening and we bought a ticket for Mr Peebody and Sherman. Overall the movie was fantastic and we both enjoyed it well. After the movie we went home and spent the evening at home.

Emeryn attended full day at the daycare from Tues- Thurs. Again, mummy took leave on Fri as we have another appointment with 2 Way Centre, a NGO establishment to further assess Emeryn for the attention deficit disorder. We went downtown for breakfast before our appointment. We were attended by a lady, whom is doing her Master Studies in Child Psychology. Her immediate superior is a Child Psychologist in Adventist and Ms Yeoh is her senior. We only need to pay RM30 per session and fortunately they do assessment for AD at this low cost. We will have to go back to Adventist for assessment and other intervention. How lucky of us to have such premium treatment at a much lower price.

After the session, we went to the Big Bad Wolf Sale again where mummy helped her colleagues to get some books and again we bought some for Emeryn. We spent 2 hours there before walking over to Mc Cafe for lunch. We headed home after lunch and later mummy decided to bring Emeryn for a swim at Hotel EQ as Emeryn has repeatedly request mummy to bring her for a swim. Mummy went into her office to pass the books she bought for her colleagues before we headed to the pool. Emeryn swam alone for about 45mins before we picked Aunty Jenny and her kids to Sunshine Square. We went for 2 games of bowling before having our dinner together. After dinner mummy bought Emeryn a 18k white gold earring as she develops allergy wearing the costume jewellery. That pair of earring costs mummy RM190. Ever since buying more books from Big Bad Wolf, Emeryn has develop a very good habit. She would read at least one book before her bedtime and bring at least 2-3 books each time we go out. Of course, mummy has to sit beside her to read together and explain to her.

On Sat, Emeryn attended her classes as usual while mummy went for an hour of health talk by Preventive Healthcare at B-Suite. Mummy was so happy to find out her body age is actually 4years younger than her real age from the simple health check available there. Again Emeryn requested for a swim after her Art Class. We went over to Aunty Su Ching's apartment but unfortunately the weather wasn't too kind to us. It started to drizzle after 15mins and we were force to stop swimming. Emeryn tried to swim using the swimming board but she fell off into the water after removing one side of her hand on the board. She developed headache after that. We drove home right after and Emeryn slept almost immediately after her shower.

We started our Sun earlier than the usual weekend. We went to the Nissan car service as mummy needed to do a second service after 5000km of mileage. After the car service, again we dropped by at the Big Bad Wolf sale. Yes, again. It was our 4th time there during the promotion period. Never missed out on any good deals, mummy spent again buying some activities books for Emeryn and some which mummy will keep as a gift. After spoiling ourselves at the book sale, mummy went for a Cheng Beng prayers at the Than Siang Temple before going home. 

Upon reaching home, Emeryn requested to do a bunny painting, an activity box which mummy bought from the sale. We spent our afternoon at home until 7pm catching up last minutes on Emeryn's school homework before going over to Por Por's house. We had our dinner there before leaving home. At home, we continued with Emeryn's homework and we played 2 set of Old Maid game before our bedtime.
