To the Beach again

 weekend activity

Not much has happened over the week especially the week after the school exam. It was basically a very relaxing routine with Emeryn attending school and daycare on every schooling day. Last Sat, there wasn't any karate class, so we spent the whole morning and afternoon at home. While mummy was too lazy to go out to grab lunch, she decided to cook her own lunch. That noon, we had nasi goreng kampung from scratch, adding in fried chicken, nuggets and sausages.

Mummy has promised to bring Emeryn to the beach if the weather is kind to us. The whole afternoon it rained cats and dogs up to 4.30pm. But Emeryn insisted on heading out to the beach. We drove to Teluk Kumbar only to find the muddy, dirty sea water. We basically spent very short time at the beach as it doesn't look too welcoming.

On Sun, Emeryn attended Cambridge class before we headed to Por Por's house. As usual, Emeryn glued herself to Baby Will and turned herself into a weekend babysitter.

Self Printed Science Mind Mapping

After mummy got very upset with Emeryn's Science result, 39% she went and search online for better ways to guide Emeryn to improve further. After long searching on the internet, she found a very useful compilation of Science mind-mapping for Year 4 - Year 6 in dwi-language. Mummy tried to edit it after converting from PDF to Ms. Words but it took too much hassle to do it. So mummy just print it out on dwi-language. The next day mummy brought the printed copies to the shop and bind it into a book for Emeryn. With this effort, mummy hopes Emeryn could improve further.

Mummy took out the luggage which stores our winter gears and put it aside before she has time to sort it out. Upon seeing the luggage full of clothing, Emeryn quickly dig her treasure (the holiday journal) and put it in the luggage. She then exclaimed "I'm bringing this along. You please don't remove it."

Mummy has managed to book a new accommodation, a beautiful sanctuary, a farm stay for our Perth trip on air b&b. Emeryn was extremely ecstatic over the news. The place calls "Wake up to kangaroos at your door" which also means the home is surrounded by the lovely kangaroos and the guests are allowed to bottle-feed the Joey. We are basically counting down to the day. On Sun before attending Cambridge English class, we went out for a quick lunch with mummy's friend at 1-World.  We then headed to Por Por's house later in the afternoon for our usual Sun visit and had our dinner there.

Coming to being a 10 year-old in just 2 more months, Emeryn finally has a new breakthrough. She is now officially enjoying cili padi without needing to wash it down with water. Woo hoo!!! New achievement unlocked.

Upset over Exam Result

Emeryn came home from tuition on yesterday evening, showing mummy her Science Mid Year Exam result. Mummy got a shock upon seeing her result 39%, FAILED.

Initially mummy was very angry and raise her voice asking what has happened. Emeryn was taken aback though she was fully prepared for mummy's reaction. After a long scolding and shouting, mummy sat down and expressed her feeling. Mummy told Emeryn that she was deeply upset, not just disappointed.  Mummy would be very disappointed if she has not sit together and revise with Emeryn. However mummy was more upset than anything else as she did a lot in preparing Emeryn for the exam. Mummy has done all she can to support her. Mummy personally read her Science textbook and her Science revision book, before googling for more information. And then mummy typed her own notes in order to ease Emeryn from reading the whole thick revision book. Mummy printed her own notes and place it in a file for Emeryn. Mummy went to the extend to google for Science mind mapping for Emeryn to speed read when needed. Mummy printed a total of 117 pages out for Emeryn. Mummy was deeply saddened, heart broken over Emeryn's poor result and had a teary eyes while talking to Emeryn.

Emeryn cried as well and promised to do revision moving on. While still being very mad, we sat together and went through all the mistakes she made on her Paper 1 which she scores 20/40. She did extremely bad on her Paper 2, 11/40.

It was a tough nite for us.

Baby Will's 1st Visit to our Home

 Emeryn & Baby Will

 revision in the reading room

Mother's Day gift

2nd May was a replacement holiday for Labour's Day. Even though it was a public holiday, we ain't going anywhere as Emeryn has to do her revision. The following day would be her Moral, Sejarah and Bahasa Cina exam. Out of the blue, Ah Kong called us up and said both him and Por Por are bringing Baby Will over to visit us. They went grocery shopping before coming to us. Emeryn was so ecstatic seeing Baby Will, given herself a break from her revision.

On Fri morning, Emeryn borrowed RM5 from mummy as she wanted to get mummy a Mother's Day gift from her school bookshop. She can't wait for present mummy the gift on Sun, thus she gave it to mummy right on the time mummy picked her up from daycare. She bought mummy 2 fragrance flowers and wrote mummy a card too. Every year she would go extra miles buying mummy double gifts. To mummy, the bumpy journey of motherhood is always so rewarding.

On Sat, Emeryn attended her Karate class as usual up to 11am. We went to Subway to buy lunch for Emeryn on our way home. After finishing her lunch, we went down to the reading room where mummy sat with her to do revision. Other than us, there were few bigger girls doing their revision too. The whole environment was very conducive and comfortable filled with air-conditioned. We finished our revision about 4.30pm and Emeryn stayed in the reading room for another 45mins where she reads the books provided in the reading room. Later in the evening, we celebrated Mother's Day along with Por Por, Ah Kong, Theng Ee Ee and her family at Jinggo Dak Galbi. It was a Korean style bbq. Before dinner, we dropped by at Chew Thean Yang while waiting for the rest to arrived for dinner.

While Emeryn attends her Cambridge Class on Sun, mummy went over to Por Por's house to pack her home-cooked meal for our dinner to save time for revision in the evening. Mummy took out the luggage which stores our winter gears and put it aside before having time to sort them out. While seeing the luggage full of clothing, Emeryn quickly dig her holiday journal and her magic pen and put it in the luggage. She said to mummy "I'm bringing this along. You please don't remove it." In the evening, we continued with the revision before going to bed.

Passport Renewal

 Mon

Sun

Mon was a replacement holiday for Sukaneka and mummy applied leave so we both could go renew our passport before applying for Australia Visa. We reached Immigration Department at 7.50am and was surprised to see the long waiting queue. We got num 1110 which means there are 109 visitor ahead of us. While killing time, we went to Esplanade playground where Emeryn had her playground time. Yes, she is still a kid who loves playground albeit being a 10 year old.

We went back to Immigration department at about 9.15am and we waited for at least an hour of so before our names being called. After taking our photograph and making payment, we walked to the food court and had lunch. We went back to Immigration Department at 12.30pm to collect our passport. Finally it was all done by 1.10pm and next we drove to Holiday Tours to apply for our Australia Visa. It took us at least 30mins before we left. Since it was our day off, mummy decided to bring Emeryn to the beach. We headed to Starbucks at Batu Ferringhi. On our way there, we pulled over to get some local kuih and having it during our journey. We spent at least 1hour or more sitting at Starbucks before we walked to the beach. Thou it was 5pm, the sun was still shine fiercely. Emeryn was disappointed as she don't get enough time on the beach and we left not long after that. We took the winding road home, passing Balik Pulau and Teluk Kumbar. The whole journey took us 50mins, what a long journey.

Mummy received her online order on Wed, a toy doll. It's Miku Hatsune, Emeryn's current craze. She smiled happily upon seeing the toy as soon as she got into the car. Mummy downloaded some Science related video for Emeryn's revision. With the advanced technology, mummy can download the same syllabus teaching on YouTube and Emeryn can watch them for leisure at the same time beneficial for her school work.

Emeryn attended Cambridge class on Sat as Sun was Labour Day. After the class, mummy prepared tom yam macaroni for lunch. Later in the afternoon, mummy drove Emeryn to the beach at Khuntai. We happily spend at least 2hours there up to sunset before driving home. Right before reaching our home, we dropped by at the Malay nite market and bought our dinner. Mummy also fulfilled Emeryn's request buying her durian.

On Labour Day itself, mummy has to go in to her office to test out the new system which was just rolled out. Mummy brought along Emeryn into her office. In the office, Emeryn did her PJ assignment. We left the office at 1pm and headed to Por Por's house for lunch. We went home for revision before attending Boon Nee's house warming at 7.30pm. We had steamboat there and had the chit chat session up to 11pm+. Aunty Sheryn helped Emeryn to go through her Mandarin revision while we were there. Emeryn dozed off immediately right reaching home.
