Our last moment with Ah Chor

earring collection

@ gurney plaza

Ah Chor was placed at Pekaka for 5days before the funeral day. Mummy sent Emeryn to school for half day on Mon and Tues as she was facing her school exam at that particular week. Mummy helped her with her revision a few nites in a row despite mourning the loss of Ah Chor. Mummy told Emeryn that ah chor would no longer be with us as she had left to heaven, a place where she finds more comfort. Obviously Emeryn would not understand.

Mummy: Emeryn, do you remember that you used to shout and push ah chor when she was getting near to you?

Emeryn: Yes

Mummy: Now, ah chor would not be here anymore. Would you want to say sorry for what you've done to her?

Emeryn: Yes. Tomorrow when i wake up i will tell her I'm sorry.

When Emeryn woke up the next morning, she lighted the joss stick with the help of mummy and ask for forgiveness. She stood beside the coffin and called up for ah chor. Ah Chor's funeral was held on 2pm, Tues and was surrounded by all of us with heavy heart and teary eyes. We tried to stole more glimpse of her before she was cremated. Later she was sent to Batu Gantung and after some prayers being read, the cremation started. That was one of the most heart wrenching moment for all of us.

All of us resumed work and school as usual on Wed morning. On the nite itself, both mummy and daddy could feel ah chor's presence in our home but yet we were not scared. While on Thurs morning, some close relatives gathered at the memorial park to collect ah chor's ashes and bones for the final ritual. After the necessary chanting and prayers held, we bid goodbye to Ah Chor at the temple where she was settled to rest in peace there.

On Sat morning, we attended the replacement for music class as we skipped the class on Tues evening. It was raining rather heavily but we fought over the rain and went for the class. During noon, mummy drove Emeryn to Gurney Plaza as she was having lunch gathering at Kim Gary. After our lunch, we shopped for a short while and Emeryn requested mummy to get her 3 pairs of earrings on her own selection. Later in the evening, daddy drove us out for dinner.

On Sun morning, mummy prepared breakfast for us. Later about noon, daddy left to the Thai Border with ah kong and kor kor to deal with some issue. Emeryn took her afternoon nap as usual before we proceeded to pay ah kong and por por our Sun visit. We dropped by at the wet market to get some ingredients for next day breakfast. Ah kong bought 4 education cds for Emeryn from Popular and Emeryn watched it there. We had our dinner there and then mummy fetched them to Prangin Mall with us as we wanted to check up the special bargain at Popular. We did not managed to grab anything but ended up mummy bought another 2 pairs of earring s for Emeryn. Mummy headed to the money changer before driving all of us to our night dessert, soya milk and tau hwa. After dropping ah kong and por por home, we headed to Pekaka to hand over the money to ah kong and we went home straight after that.

Good-Bye My Dear Ah Chor

We visited ah chor at the hospital after our dinner on Mon evening. She talked to us like normal. We did not manage to pay ah chor a visit on Tues as we attended music class. Again we paid her a visit on Wed evening. She was sleeping soundly when we arrived. We tried waking her up but to no evil. She opened her eyes and looked at us and continued her sleep. She looked really weak and obviously tired. Under normal circumstances, ah chor will keep herself awake knowing her favourite girl, Emeryn was there. But this time, she choose to sleep.

Bad news started pouring in on Thurs afternoon after mummy received a call from daddy. Ah chor was having terrible breathing difficulties. Mummy rushed to the hospital immediately upon receiving daddy's call and picked Emeryn from the nursery. When we reached the ward, ah chor's bed was empty and she was placed next to the nursing care. She was attached to the oxygen and half conscious. She can't talk and barely open her eyes and make any movement. Oh my!!! Tears running down uncontrollably. We held her hands and tried calling her. At that moment, she could still gave us a tiny response. Some relative made their ways to the hospital hoping to see ah chor for the last time. Her left hand was terribly swollen and her skin on chin dropped tremendously. She looked so pale and weak. All of us stood there helplessly.

Ah Chor was allowed to go home after her pulses were stabilized. She was sent home via ambulance and she needed the assistance of the oxygen at home. Upon reaching home, she looked a lot more better. She could move her hands and legs a little and gave us more body language compare to when she was in the hospital. Granny made her coffee and gave her a puff on her ciggy. We tried fulfilling her the very best way we could and make her a contented lady before leaving us. She touched her hair, giving us the indication she needed a shave on her hair. We had her changed into her new clothing, wipe her, fed her and make her the most beautiful lady for the day. She could even drew a smile over her face. Many relatives make their ways to visit ah chor. Everyone of us tried cherishing the very last moment with her.

At about 12.30am, mummy heard some noise downstairs and she rushed down. Many of them surrounded her and kept on calling her. One by one, we squatted next to her and held her hand. Her breathing became weak and weaker the very next minutes. Mummy stood next to her and held her hands. Mummy fed her with some drinking water but she refused to consume it. Ah chor tried to talk but no words were utter from her mouth. Poor thing. Slowly her breath stopped and all of us called out for her. The next moment we realized ah chor has left us, yes left us forever. She was pronounced dead at 12.45am. Her face turned green right after she blew her last breath. She leave behind a wonderful family she once built. She was one tough lady who waited for everyone to arrived before she called off her life. She was 92. The date 14th May 2010 marked a sad date for all of us. Though she had lived a wonderful life yet we still can't accept the fact that she was gone, gone for good.

The next morning, we prepared for the wake and still mourning for the loss of a wonderful lady, the pillar to the family. Ah chor, you will always be in our heart and we will always love you.

"She crossed my life and touched my heart. She showed me the real meaning of unconditional love. She loved me & Emeryn more than her own grandchild. Thank you for loving us. May you rest in peace, granny-in-law."

Happy Mother's Day

During the weekday, mummy done a lot of revision with Emeryn as she is facing her exam next 2 weeks. It sadden mummy a lot knowing her princess can't recognize alphabets and numbers. Mummy tried changing her teaching approach and encouraged Emeryn more rather than put more pressure on her. It works wonder where Emeryn could coloured a nice piece of art with constant encouragement. On Fri morning, mummy had her first presentation on Malay and it turned out perfect. Bravo, mummy. Mummy left Emeryn at por por's house as she went out for dinner with her friend. Mummy also bought a brand new hand phone, nokia X6 which cost her RM1400. Mummy picked Emeryn at around 11.30pm and she was still awake. Ah kong and por por brought her out to the playground while waiting for mummy's pick up.

We spent Sat morning at home. In the early evening, daddy dropped us to the playground at Ashley Green. It was our first time there and mummy's first time snapping Emeryn's photo with her new digital camera. We went for dinner right after the play time but only daddy had his dinner. Mummy was too full for dinner at that time. Later at nite, mummy had a piece of burger, a fried egg and 2 sausages for her late dinner.

Sun, it was Mother's Day. It was the day ah chor was hospitalized due to her breathing difficulty. Ah kong was down with high fever and we ended with no celebration. Poor thing. Mummy and daddy were at the hospital in the afternoon while Emeryn was at Pekaka. After settling the hospital procedure, daddy fetched us out for dinner. After our dinner, we dropped by at LWE to pay a h chor a visit. Albeit from being so sick, she could still talked to us. We stayed for more than an hour and waited for the doctor's prescription. The doctor delivered and dropped some negative hints. That's where the nightmare struck.

Flying Kite

Last Tues, we went for music class as usual. Mummy started having a bad swelling on her eyes after using the eye drop. Her eyes swell so fast that she could not wait for daddy to send her to hospital. Thus mummy drove on her own while Emeryn tagged along. It was a tremendous difficult drive for mummy. Mummy was attended at the emergency unit at LWE and later daddy drove there. That nite, Emeryn slept over at Pekaka as mummy could not managed to handle Emeryn.

Mummy was granted medical leave for Wed & Thur. Eventually Emeryn refused to go to school on Wed morning. Mummy sent Emeryn to school on Thurs morning while she rest at home for another day. mummy went to work as usual on Fri morning and sent Emeryn to por por's house in the evening as she went out for dinner with her friend.

We stayed at home on Sat morning while daddy went off for work. Later in the evening, daddy dropped mummy at Queensbay to develop the photo. We went for dinner before mummy picked up the photo again. After that we went to the seaside opposite QBM and daddy bought a kite for Emeryn. Eventually both mummy and daddy were playing the kite and Emeryn don't really got the chance to play until she complaint. We went back to Pekaka for a short while before sending Emeryn to por por's house again. Mummy and daddy went off to the temple for a prayer.

On Sun morning, we went for brunch at Zealand cafe with granny and the whole bunch of family members. After the brunch, mummy dropped Emeryn at Pekaka and mummy went to the digital camera fair. Mummy bought a new digital camera at only RM300, really good bargain with good price. Mummy got one for Theng Ee Ee as well. We went home later for Emeryn's nap before daddy fetched us to por por's house. We had our dinner there and spent some time before leaving home.
